It was announced that this 3D show within the Tree of Life Theater at Animal Kingdom will be closing to be replaced with a new show based on Zootopia.
Official Description: Become an honorary insect as you take your seat in the theater hidden at the base of the Tree of Life and don a pair of “bug eye” glasses. Enjoy a delightful 3D movie and live show hosted by Flik, the loveable ant from A Bug’s Life, and learn how insects survive in the wild.

I think the show holds up and its just cool walking "under" the tree of life. Like it was said above least offensive way to add Zootopia to Animal Kingdom if they must. I'm still on team remake Dinoland into the past of a real, epic cretaceous-forest, not demolish it, but that will never happen either. Animal Kingdom has still remained a beautiful park thus far and is still my favorite.

I never visited this ride, but it genuinely is sad to see that the only surviving attraction based on one of my favorite Pixar movies is gonna fade away from existence soon.

I personally would love if they kept this due to its flawless thematic fit, but i understand Disney wanting a show here that will actually draw in crowds. Thanks for the coverage!

Out of all the options for Zootopia at Disney's Animal Kingdom. This on STINGS the least. (Pun intended) Thanks for this wonderful POV! Will miss the Bugs but glad something new is coming :D

I was here in CA in 2007 and Hopper's attack had me a crying mess. Especially when the seats moved like they were crawling under you.

Has a date been announced for the closure of the attraction?? I would be so heartbroken if I never got a chance to experience it. It’s the last remaining thing of A Bug’s Life Disney World has to offer.

That Flick animatronic has clearly not been unkept the way it should be. The mouth is essentially static at this point.

Well the ride will be closing for good soon so why spend money on it. At least the animatronic is still popping up.

@@TCMACK if youre at the audience you wont really notice thw mouth movements anyways and it doesnt affect the show. Its zoomed in thats why. I pay to go to AK but have never been on this ride for so long.

@@gissneric But the “Disney difference” was always about the little things that many may not notice. That’s what made it special worth paying for. Disney was always a cut above the rest, but especially in recent years, they’ve cut back on maintenance in general. If this was strictly confined to Bugs Life, then it wouldn’t be as big of a deal. But Disney is doing a poor job with maintaining their attractions in general. Also, the Disney California Adventure version of the show was in much better shape when it closed compared to the Disney Animal Kingdom is now.

@@TCMACK i have been to WDW a twice last year and i didnt notice any maintainance issues aside from those scheduled. Just because you read some rants on social media doesnt mean thats what happens. Universal rides breaks down a lot too but they dont get criticized and theyre on par with Disney. You be your own judge not other people
