Walrus Audio makes some nice pedals. Was considering the EONS, but I think this one should be on the list too. Pedal is 339 EUR at Thomann though... damn.

Eons is amazing. I feel like you can get pretty similar tones since it has a voltage cranker up to 18V built in which does kind of the same thing as a preamp tube in the circuit. Plus you get 5 different voices. I'm gonna try one of these at my local Guitar Center to see if it is more engaging, and because I have a pedal problem. But right now, Eons is hands down the best fuzz I have.

Id love to see the circuit on this pedal. Most pedals that use a tube like a 12ax7 unless it has a transformer inside it, is only there as a gimmick. So the tube lights and people see that and get all excited. But for the tube to make the pedal really perform it has to have a sufficient amount of voltage to truly be a performer in the circuit. The Kingsley Page pedal has that going for it by really utilizing the 12ax7 tube. Still cool fuzz if that's your thing. Cheers

I share your non enthusiasm for fuzz. But this does sound better than most fuzzes. Tubes just have a better sound stage. I'm curious if these are Nu-Tubes ala Korg or real tubes like in amps. Fine demo as always.... Edit... Its an AU7 , ECC82 which is fine at low V assuming they aren't using a V multiplier. Also its 9 or 12 volts in. The octave is pre distortion so I'm guessing a SS circuit for that .

Yes, there are transistor pre-gain and octave circuits. All analog (but no opamps). Nothing digital in this pedal except for footswitch and relay control. Yes, low mu 12AU7, real tube. You can open it up and swap to your favorite NOS (including 5814A).

The Friedman Fuzz Fiend also used a tube, a 12AX7 at 275V if I recall correctly, and it was discontinued due to poor sales. I treasure mine.

Let us know how that guitar ages. Walnut is more prone to warping than Maple or even Mahogany. Hopefully its kiln dried almost to the point of being called roasted.

First, your guitar is great! It sounds fantastic! Second, this is a good fuzz pedal, that is also flexible to get good sounds out of different amps. Fuzz is a very special effect for guitar and bass, but if you really know how to use it for your sound, it can be wonderful. I normally use fuzz effects for blues, but I also use it for my baritone for metal. A good way to use fuzz is to blend it into the normal guitar signal, with a blender pedal or with pedals that allows to blend other signals, like the yellow king from Lichtlaerm Audio. If you're interested in fuzz, you have to try out the DROP /DED Fuzz from Analogwise Pedals, also not expensive. The Silt Harmonic Fuzz Red pedal looks great, sounds good and is very useful, but quite expensive. It is definitely not only for fuzz pedal lovers. It's on my wish list now. 😊
