Regarding "Big Ben". Big Ben is the nick-name of the bell in Elizabeth Tower, originally named Clock Tower, at the Palace of Westminster. The clock does not actually have a name.
@anghinetti5 жыл бұрын
James Woodard: The clock is officially known as the Great Westminster Clock. The four smaller bells within the tower are the quarter bells.

If you want to visit a beautiful part of England come visit Derbyshire where chatsworth house is, it’s a beautiful part of the country no high rise buildings or mass crowds and you definitely won’t get ripped off. There is so many areas around Derbyshire that you will be spoiled for choice. Enjoy your holiday.xx

Hi! Strangely enough I saw a video explaining the story of the Unknown Warrior chosen and brought from the WW 1 and part of the journey to the internment in Westminster Abbey to be buried amongst the Kings and Queens. The train carriage carrying the coffin was stopped and held on platform 9 at Kings Cross Station until the time for the precession through London to the Cathedral. They estimated 1million people saw the precession.

The present Saint Paul's is the fourth church to occupy the site since the 7th century AD. Before that, there stood here a Roman temple of the 1st century AD dedicated to Diana, goddess of the hunt, the moon and nature. Some suggest Diana Spencer preferred Saint Paul's to Westminster Abbey for her marriage with Prince Charles in 1981 simply because of that association with the Roman goddess.

E long: There never was a person styled Princess Diana: although a princess of the United Kingdom following marriage, she was not allowed to use that title before her name simply because she was a princess by marriage rather than by birth.
@Elong.5 жыл бұрын
Sommatore Nero but of course the know she married into the title but she was a Princess. She will always be in my books. Camilla makes my skin crawl.🤮
@anghinetti5 жыл бұрын
@@Elong.: Of course she became a princess of the United Kingdom upon marriage but that does not detract from the fact she was debarred from using the title before her name. Had made that clear in my initial comment. Catherine Middleton and Meghan Markle became princesses of the United Kingdon upon marriage but they too are debarred from using the title before their name. Incidentally, was not necessary to express your personal opinion of the Duchess of Cornwall because that was irrelevant to the matter.
