Man I miss the ocean, fishing, even just hanging out on the beach. Born and raised in Hawaii, lived on oahu, and the big island, i loved fishing. I recently moved to the mainland and having ocean withdrawals. Lol.

If it looks rough on a GoPro video, you know it was rough! Those things usually make rough water look like a lake

The Squall seems like it can handle the big fish with ease but wondering why you're not using the two speed version. Is it cost or is the single speed more reliable?

...'realistically if you're in a kayak you shouldn't be out in these conditions'... I can see what you're saying, but it's easier to learn this lesson from watching someone else. I've been out in worse conditions, but I try not to do that anymore. Turtling in big and fast ocean swell with all the fishing gear tethered on, would be a mess to deal with, if not worse! I enjoy your clips, keep'em coming.

Forecast was variable at 5 mph for the entire day. I have been known to sent it, but this wasn’t the time. I was heading in when I hooked the king. It took 2.5 hours to get in from 5 miles out and by then the wind was back to less than 10 mph 🤷♂️

Caught the other one heading in, but you’ve definitely got a point. Now that I have a son years after this trip I would have probably turned around sooner
