I can't even begin to imagine the amount pressure this young man must be coping with at his home track. That's why I call the young lad " Chuck the Duck". Calm as a can be above water but his feet are paddling like hell. Good Luck Chuck.

He is all speed and no brains. He often read races wrong and never makes his own strategies. He can win in a dominant car like Vettel did because he is fast but if things go even with another driver he will never win a championship.

Strategy is the business of the Team. If the driver has to make up the strategy, something is inherently wrong in the team. Just to give an example from the past, the 3 stop win in Hungary 98 and the 4 stop win in France 04 were both ideas that were developed by the Ferrari strategy team at the pitwall. The drivers don't have the necessary wider picture to really call a strategy during the race. Yes, there were instances when drivers made up their own strategies and it worked. But more often than not, it goes horribly wrong if they try that.

Every driver who went on to win a championship has shown a level of consistency which I feel like we are yet to see from Charles. I'm sure that soon we will see it.

Leclerc misses that final bit needed to be championship material... You can just compare him to his teammate Sainz he is consistent, less error prone, when the opportunity is right he does everything right and finally gets his decision making right even at adversities. Finally, continuous improvement is the parameter which needs to be judged which is not improving in Charles case year on year.

Did you watch karting between Man and Charles???? Max won ……all the time… Charles top top driver … but Max …is another species

Kaeting doesnt tell anything lol. There were many drivers who dominated karting but are nowhere to be seen now. And max had 5 years more of karting experience than charles before they went head to head. Not saying max is not a beast, but we cant make that deduction from karting. We will have to wait until max beat a competent teammate, something which he hasnt done to date.

I disagree with your general take on CL. I do believe he is ready. The prob is that the car is not and has not been. Hence a champion like him will continue to push and take more risks, so the few errors are understandable and so far unconsequentional since he was never in the fight for the title. Now, this year he is being more cautious, which I think is brilliant: wait for when you have a car that can fight for the title. Hopefully 2025.

Maybe Leclerc listening to his team and placing trust in them even when they are wrong, might be why Leclerc got the contract renewal and Sainz did not. I very much doubt Pit walls want to be proven wrong worldwide and live. I think he will refine himself with Lewis, and if Newey joins, and stays around after Lewis, Leclerc will be winning championships too. It was Button teaming up with Lewis that taught him to take less risks and focus more on looking after your tyres, maybe Lewis will pass this lesson on to Leclerc too.

Charles Leclerc is the most consistent driver this season except for Verstappen and the only one to finish top 4 in all races this year. That's why he's the man chasing Max Verstappen in the championship despite not winning a race this year!

In contrast, Max, during the race, asking for a click or two more on the nose and GP saying effectively: "I told you so". That's how it should be.

Once right, Spain 2009, Lewis asked to be pitted, he race engineer told him to *shut up* and leave the strategy to them, think he finished behind Heidfeld whereas if they listened to him, he would have finished in front of him. Some drivers like to put their trust in their team, Leclerc is one of them. Don't think you can win a title without that trust, though I do remember Monza (I think?) 2010 Vettel losing his rag and accused Red Bull of trying to sabotage him. I would place a bet and say that drivers who have won major titles like F3, F2 and F1, have gone and been conditioned in the process of relying on their pit wall to get them the most accurate information that aided them to that win. Your Max's and Sainz's really have come into F1 from karting so they might be more willing to question things. Though saying that Norris (F2 and F3 winner) can ignore the pit walls instructors from time to time, much to his detriment (rain Russia 2021) and benefits (understeer China 2024).
