I was always planning to craft the all 7 runes after I made Medium Legendary PvE armour, but this was an offer I could not refuse. I just bought the 50 Mystic Aspects I needed yesterday and now I own 1/7 Legendary Runes. Once done with the armour, banking/betting on prices coming back down to craft the other 6.

Awesome! I agree that the free relic is too good to pass up on, especially since it'll use similar materials. My best guess is that in the week(s) after the update prices of charms will stabilize again. There's always a possibility that the materials for Gifts of Condensed Might/Magic remain rather high, if a lot of people are crafting the legendary armor. But that should even out over time too.

Thankfully I had most of the mats ready for crating a few more legi armor pieces so switched that over go getting a legi rune for each of my 2 main accounts. It still cost me some of my gold savings and selling a few stacks of yellow gear. With lunar new year event coming up I should be able to make back the gold I had to spent to get the 2 runes crafted up.

Thought I would add, at this exact time mystic aspects are selling for more than the sum of their parts. Make sure you craft your charms into mystic aspects before selling stuff to make some extra gold (98s per aspect). You could also put in a buy order for the charms, craft and then sell the mystic aspect to make some gold, but be warned, prices are very volatile so it could potentially be risky to do this in bulk.

@majinpvegeta the context is rather important here. Anet mentioned that the relic will require a process similar to other legendary items. I'm assuming that it will be more in line with relics and sigils than weapons, for example. So for (more) experienced players, I would definitely recommend farming enough materials to create 1 rune if they have none. Even if the materials would end up costing 25% more, that's still considerable value they can get extra. Now, for less experienced and new players, I would say it's not worth stressing about and rushing through everything. Ruining the magic of exploring the story, zones, professions, and builds is not a trade-off I would personally make.

For times when you get a rune drop directly (for instance, rune bags from ley matter or karmic converter), does it matter what salvage kit you use on the rune? I've never been sure when it comes to salvaging runes/sigils directly whether copper vs ruencrafter vs silver fed increases the chance of getting charms/sigils or not.

There's no difference when salvaging runes directly, so you're best off using the copper-fed, as that would be the cheapest option. Runecrafter's is important if you were to salvage green gear directly, of course.

Can I still get the charms of brilliance etc by using mystic salvage kits I got from boosting characters to 80? I think I can manage to get enough ecto from using some on yellow unidentified gear but not sure about the charms. What is the best way to get more sigils for charms anwyway?

Mystic Salvage Kit have a salvage rate of 80% for the upgrades, so 1 in 5 would fail given a large enough sample size. At that point, it might be more worthwhile selling unidentified gear. But if you want to craft a rune for yourself, that 15% tp tax might be worth taking that 'hit".

Since I saw this vid I did the octo daily and the Bitterfrost Frontier approx 5 times a day. I managed to salvage 6 stacks of greens and one stack of yellow and I really think I'd be better off selling the gear than trying to gather it myself ans salvaging it. The cost of the aspects that I miss was at the time ~280g and while 6stacks of greens and 1 stack of yellows would only give me around 140g I was only able to craft like 7 of the mystic aspects. Dunno if I'm really unlucky with the aspect drop rate or what but it really feels like selling is the way to go!

Selling is the most surefire way to success. The drop rates of the charms are rather low, so you would be salvaging a massive amount if you were to get enough for a rune. I would recommend salvaging either when you don't want to buy them on the TP, or you have no need for them. As it stands, depending on the price of a stack, people are making a profit with green unids. But this changes sometimes during the day.

I own all expansions and living story I just haven't played through all chapters yet. Thanks for your guide! Bjora marches is only accesible through storyas it's not connected to any other map otherwise. You can access it after doing the first instance in Icebrood Saga episose 1, which is "whisper in the dark" i believe!

Thanks! As Attor mentioned, you could get there by playing the story. Alternatively, you could also ask someone to let you teleport to them with a Teleport to Friend, if you have one. Another possibility is going to Eye of the North and buying a (permanent) scroll to teleport to Bjora Marches. If you own any of the Lounge Passes, you should have the option to go to Eye of the North with one of those.

There is an incredibly easy way to get to Bjora by entering one of the strikes in Eye of the North, such as Boneskinner, and then exiting through the blue portal. I just recently did this to gain access

It should be noted that "Mystic Aspects" one of the primary things required to make one of these, needs *50* of them, which will cost you 500gp less whatever of them you already have... which could easily be "None". The rest of the stuff needed is reasonable -- depending on your inventory, you could make one of these for as little as 75gp. THIS item is just flat out @#$%$@ insane, to require that many of them. 😕 So, examine your supply of those before you even consider collecting the other ingredients. 🤬🤬🤬

I am currently still selling mats, probably until the update goes live (Feb 22). The prices are less "crazy" than the first day, but still selling at a massive premium. There's a possibility that when the patch goes live, we see another rush for T6 materials and Globs of Ectoplasm, if people need more for the Legendary Armor.

How does the Runecrafter salvage kit help with getting charms? You collect the upgrades, but then do what with them?

The runecrafter's doesn't actually extract them, but salvages them immediately with the rest of the item. It is the only salvage kit that has a 100% success rate to also salvage the upgrade, however. All other kits have a less than 100% chance of doing so.

If you want to go for charms to use/sell, then yes! You could also choose to directly sell the green/yellow unidentified gear directly, which would eliminate RNG impacting your profit. While still opening the blue unidentified gear and salvaging those with the appropriate kits.

Yep, Gyala and a few other metas are excellent as well! I chose to focus on content that is a bit less commander dependent, as I often do in my videos. But if you can command/find a commander for Gyala, that one is definitely up there.

I don't have Runecrafter's Salvage kit. Does this work 100% with the Silver one?

Silver-fed only has an 80% chance of salvaging the upgrades, and a 25% chance of rarer materials (Runecrafters has 100% for upgrades, 20% for materials). This means that with a Silver-Fed you're bound to lose out on getting charms, and might want to check how expensive the unidentified gear and opt for the gold, if you don't need charms for your own rune. Otherwise it might be worth the "loss", as you can avoid 15% TP taxes if you were to buy the charms afterwards. Mind you, for Yellow/Rare gear you want to use the Runecrafter's on armor with runes, but the silver-fed for weapons. Weapons contain sigils, which salvage into symbols, which aren't worth it at the moment.

That's a pretty good plan, to be honest. You have a little under 2% chanse to get a charm from salvaging minor runes. In your case, I would definitely take the "certain" profits, instead of gambling on them.

The one rule to always abide by is to Open any Unidentifieds before salvaging, as they have a random chance to upgrade to a higher rarity. For myself, I am currently selling Green and Yellow Unidentified gear, as I have most of my materials and I want liquid gold. Salvaging greens with a runecrafter's or equivalent and yellows with a silver-fed or equivalent would be the way to go if you need materials. For the simple reason that if you sell stuff on the TP, you pay a 15% tax, lowering how much you can actually buy with that you farmed. Keep in mind the drop rates for charms are fairly low and range from just under 2% for minor runes and just under 10% for superior runes. If you want a bit of best of both worlds approach, you could always sell green unidentified (unopened) on the trading post, and open and salvage yellows. Yellow gear will quite often reward you with globs of ectoplasm, making you far less reliant on charms dropping.

I didn't hear you say if you were selling the sigils or salvaging them in hopes of the expensive rune crafting mats. This time around you'll want runes for the Charms, as those have shot up in price due to being needed for legendary runes. The symbols have gone done in price for the moment, so it might be worth hanging onto them for a bit.

You'll only get 1 legendary relic normally, as you can use them through the legendary armor on all of your characters. So for now, my advise would be to sell materials at a premium, and finish crafting your runes once the update is live and prices settle back down.

In that case, Silverwastes is one of the best areas to run around in and complete the events. Alternatively, you could also look for a commander in the LFG, which would make things even more efficient. If you don't have any of the Seasons yet, I would actually advise you to hold off on spending gold on the Legendary Rune, and convert to gems to buy some of the LWS instead. They're a permanent account upgrade that you will get to enjoy much more.

You'll only get the free relic if you craft a rune before the update hits, so within 31 days. Afterwards, you'll need to craft the Legendary relic with a process similar to other Legendary items.

Are you getting Lucent Motes at least? If not, there might be something off with your process. You'd want to identify the gear, then salvage with the runecrafter's. There's a fairly low drop rate for charms and symbols, but you should get some per stack you salvage.

Good question. Since relics are as much part of the gear as any other item, and there are "core" relics, I would assume it is possible. But I can't say with 100% certainty, as the legendary will also contain SotO only options. I did a quick search, but can't find any details online :(

If you play about 1-4 classes then I really don't see the appeal for having legendary relic and runes, especially if you already have the legendary armor or you're chasing it. Too expensive for what they offer. This is a great time to just sell the mats. (at least for me)

Definitely! The use case for everyone will be different, especially since we'll need to unlock additional relics later on, even with the legendary. If you have most of your characters already completely set up, its value does diminish if you stick to their builds. Personally, I swap builds so much, I know I'll get my value out of it. But I do see how it can be unnecessary as well.

It looks like the Runecrafter even is on sale right now if the Wiki doesn't lie. Bro, you're right on time with those videos, as always. By the way, I was running Elyssa's Eternal Ice route this morning because a certain someone 😏 said it's faster than Tekkit's. And it is, by far. But it expects the meta to be done as well, which for me happened by chance just as I stumbled upon the gate at the bridge. Then you go down the cliff into that canyon and right there, the arrows just ended. No comment or anything. I have no idea if it wants me to teleport somewhere or if it's supposed to be finished. I've encountered stuff like this a lot with Elyssa's trails and I wonder if I did anything wrong. It's so weird, you sit in the middle of nowhere and the trail just stops.

I try to somewhat shuffle my videos around if news comes out, so we all know what to do :) I have been using Elyssa's as well, and absolutely love them. If the bridge is closed, it's safe to teleport to the next part of the trail (Still Waters Speaking Waypoint - [&BDkMAAA=]) and follow path 3.

I think you're just meant to start the next section every time the trail ends. I tried Alyssa's route out for the first time a few days ago and that was what I did.

Oof, thats out of sorts. Were you using the right salvage tool on the gear, or directly salvaging runes? Major Runes are reportedly dropped 3/100 and superior 9/100, as per the wiki - wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rune/salvage_research
