I do not own a television set anymore, and I no longer listen to music. I have been amazed by the fact that I don't miss it either. I agree with much of this. I didn't want the distraction from Allah any longer. I reverted to Islam 3 months ago. Thank you for this talk.

Alhamdulillah, he could not be more correct about home schooling. None of my four children ever set foot in a school. We taught them at home - most importantly, to *think critically*. They are adults now and without exception, their employers are always amazed at their work ethics, knowledge, and courtesy. They (our children) have all thanked us for NOT sending them to school. I have many regrets in my life, but alhamdulillah, keeping my children home is not one of them.

Assalam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh, can I have any idea of how you been teaching your kids at home? And what about the degrees

@@zuhurakayitesi7678 Wa'alaikum salam - my children are all grown now. Back in the day we mixed and matched resources from various curriculum providers. (My children were not raised Muslim; I am a recent convert). I know that homeschooling in the Muslim community in America has grown by leaps and bounds in the last decade and there may even be complete Islamic curriculums. As for post-secondary education, my oldest son is getting a degree from Texas Tech and has had no problems. Most colleges accept homeschoolers with no issues. :)
