This is hits really close to home for me. When my parents told my siblings and me that they were divorcing, a part of me felt like it was my fault. They said that even though they're divorced, we're still a family and they'll always love and support us. I'll glad my siblings, and I were mature enough to handle the separations with our parents and my parents are still friends. This is why it's good to talk to your kids about these sorts of things.

in my opinion the ending wasn't very satisfying for me especially at the music level where they essentially forced May into singing when she obviously didn't want to and the fact that it felt like they learned nothing from this experience. Bcuz like sure they found their passion attraction and all that jazz but it felt like they didn't explore into the whole aspect of why they're divorcing. It also felt like they planned this divorce out well and that they knew getting a divorce would be more healthy for them and Rose. So playing the game it felt like they were saying divorce means failure when it doesn't. Divorce could be the better option than staying in a toxic relationship. IDK it's the message that i got from this game though gameplay was a definite 10/10. Story? 4.5/10 . The story definitely could've been better.

The whole point of it was that they truly identified the reasons they fought and were able to work through them and realize that divorce wasn't the only way to go. Sure, it would have been healthy, but they clearly didn't talk things out as thoroughly as you think, otherwise none of the various bits in the plotline would have came as a shock to them. They were planning a divorce because neither of them wanted to see things from the other perspective, and then once they did, they decided on second thought that maybe there was something worth keeping. They decided to stay together even after logically planning to divorce initially.

My only complaint is that they never adressed the very clear financial strain that is running both the marrige and especially Mays life into the ground. Other characters endlessly hound May for overworking but never have any thought of maybe thinking her job is mistreating her, no talk about cutting down on expenses, or moving to somehere cheaper, Cody never offers to maybe get a job, nothing. May is horribly mistreated in that way dispite not being any type of rigid workaholic, she clearly dosent want to be this way. Its so upseting.

Yes agreed. There were still many pressures of real life that weren't addressed, and unfortunately finances play a huge role in many relationships (even though it really shouldn't be such a factor, in an ideal world). I will give the game credit in that it did leave the ending a bit ambiguous - yes they rekindled some of their love, they showed their daughter that it's not her fault at all, but they also didn't address whether they were still getting a divorce or not - it's still a possibility, but with them facing it in a better way, at least.
