The easiest way to feel like the smartest person in the room is to spew pessimism. That way, when good things come to an end you can say I told you so. If you expect nothing, you’ll never be disappointed. It takes real wisdom and strength to find ways to stay optimistic and motivated. Some people choose to fight to stay above the water, others choose to let themselves sink and sit at the bottom. The ones who stay at the bottom can justify it however they want, but they will never see the sun.
@peterpocsai1627Ай бұрын
Here are some things I would like to correct: 1. Adventure Time: It is not the problems we need. It's the mindset that can help us find solutions to the problems. Even if one solution creates a new problem it will help us grow to become better. 2. Rick and Morty1: Love is NOT just a chemical reaction. Love no matter if it's romantic or general it shows that you are able to care. Not just for others but also for yourself. Rick just kinda gave up caring. It is his responsability. 3. Rick and Morty2: Happiness may not always last and could be difficult to maintain but it can always (re)created. It is a road, not a destination. And yes happiness can be a trap if it is abused. But if you give happiness great love and care and share it with right people, it can last for a long-long time. And yes, finding the right people is hard but that is why we need to improve ourselves first. It all depends on us. We need to be patient. 4. Family Guy 1-2: Those are more about the ways society has lied to us for years. To surpress feelings and when they burst out it will become anger, tears or even worse. If we let ourselves be controlled it won't solve anything. If we can't show our true colors to anyone it's just not worth it. And we will be trapped in a downward spiral. But here is the funny thing: That spiral is much smaller than it seems. We just let ourselves sink into it. It is our choice to finally stand up and step out of it. That's all folks! Have a happy life!❤❤❤
@user-lo5em5rf9v26 күн бұрын
About fourth one,its hard to stand up especially when family is involved. I’ve seen people live their entire lives without speaking up about how messed they are from inside and I’m that kind of person too. When I try to speak my voice chokes up and my emotions come out through tears, so I stay silent. When I finally gather the courage to express my feelings it disrupts my mental peace and it takes time to recover. Everything piles up inside and I know if I didn't let this out it will come out in the worst way. All I’m saying is, it’s not easy to stand up and just step away.

My counterargument to the Rick and Morty character saying how happiness always ends is the fact that it can always come back, which makes it worth fighting for. It's why so many people have spent their lives pursuing it, protecting it, looking for it and so on. Because we know, deep down, we *know* that happiness is temporary, but just because it's temporary doesn't mean it's never going to come back.
@IHateThingsThatEverybodyLovesАй бұрын
And beyond that happiness can't last forever. In life your supposed to strive for peace and contentment imo
@sneakretsterАй бұрын
Another counterargument is that EVERYTHING ends, not just happiness. Rage, depression, envy, apathy, whatever; all emotions are ephemeral and come and go with the various events that occur in life, and even if you have a clinically diagnosed predisposition towards a certain feeling, happiness is a barrier that can protect you from yourself for at least a brief moment.
@sliceof_melon00Ай бұрын
For anyone who thinks the meaning of life is to be happy or that happiness is a default feeling you are setting yourself up for failure and will forever see the world as unjust and cruel. Happiness isn't something you will ever feel constantly without interruption and nor should it be. The best you can have in life is to just be neutral or even just content. It doesn't sound as great as 'finding happiness' but it is the reality and it is better this way. Happiness is a feeling that when experienced allows us to express something genuine and deeply touching it is reserved for moments that warrant it and therefore is not cheapened. If we are always happy then happiness would have no meaning. Life isn't unjust just because you don't feel happy all the time and the reason accepting that is so difficult is because it's scary to know that you will not always be happy and not know for how long you will have to wait before feeling happy again. The trick to it however is to not wait, accept life for what it is and treat every emotion as something genuine that is unmistakable

Constant happiness sounds like a nightmare to me. I hate when I experience negative emotions but I would hate never experiencing them again. They’re important to help us sort through the issues we’re dealing with in our life, they can keep us alive, and they make the happiness we experience all the more rewarding. Balance with every emotion that’s part of the human experience is what’s overall important for long term health.

some of these make sense but the one with the guy talking to morty makes literally no sense and has a piss poor argument. "happiness is temporary therefore being happy is stupid" ya sure happiness is temporary and doesn't last forever but so is you know. everything else. happiness is temporary, sadness is temporary, anger is temporary, all of it is temporary. thats the most nihilistic way of thinking and mortys right, thats dumb.
@KaylaTheKindOneАй бұрын
well, nihilism is a reoccuring theme in rick and morty, and it's not really meant to be glorified or adopted as your personal philosophy. rick's probably the most nihilistic person in the entire multiverse, and it usually makes him miserable. the people he cares about most always get hurt, and yet _not_ caring isn't the safe option either. every time he doesn't care, the people that care about _him_ most get hurt. his intelligence is his greatest strength and greatest weakness. he's accomplished so much with it, but he also thinks logic and science can never truly backfire on him or be taken from him, and it also offers an escape from the curse of being human.

Videos like these are just, nice to think about life on, at times. Sometimes i just make a comment on videos like these knowing nobody will probably care, but to anyone that reads this: If you're going through hard times, never stop going, never give up. There will be times where you get beaten down, there will be times when you just break down and cry. There will be times when you want to give up, but you have more people who would miss you then you realize. It could be a family member, a loved one, a close friend, maybe somebody you talk to every once in awhile. Hell, maybe its just a simple pet, like a cat, dog, or even a little goldfish. You just being here, will always give somebody joy, even if you never feel like such. There will be times when problems just keep coming, things pile up one after the other, but one thing to remember, is to me at least, good cannot exist without the bad. Sure, to some happiness may be fleeting, but so is sadness. You will never always feel happiness or joy, just like you will never always feel despair or sadness. After every hurricane is a rainbow, after every storm comes peace and quiet, there is always a light at the end of every tunnel. You can keep going if you've made it this far. You're never alone, we're all gladiators fighting our own battles every day, ones nobody else can see, and we will keep fighting. "If you're still alive, you aren't struggling with depression, depression is struggling with you."

It is so difficult to find closure within one's self. It's been almost 10 years since she died and I still think of her every day. I sit in a position I never thought I could reach but at the cost of standing on her grave. I want to find love again, after 9 years of processing the 2 I had with her. But I'm so terrified of hurting someone I love. Even someone I don't yet love is too valuable in my mind to be selfish and love them knowing it will end with one or both of us hurting. I shut out the parts of me that crave it. I hide from everyone and keep my pathetic self hidden from the thoughts of others to keep them from loving me. I'm still sick. But at least now I can't hurt anyone else.

something i realised by the end of my highschool time "theres a good reason why one or few close friends, are better than many normal ones. few close friends give a sense of family, while many normal ones make you realise just how replacable both you and they are, once you find more friends yet again" mostly hungout with people during lunch. my classmates rarely left the classroom for it, so i had another group who i was pretty close with (not close enough), and another when that group wasnt present. was friends with all of em, or well some more than others. when the main group got exams and eventually graduated, i was only told about farewells in a call, when they WERE leaving the country. a good friend from the other group was closer friends with someone else, who wasnt comfy joining them when i was around, so i was asked to not join them during lunch - only half the time she would be there, and i practically only hungout with em during lunch. had known someone from a 4th group, so i kinda joined them, but they were only girls so was on my final normal day told to please find someone else cuz girl talk feels off when a guy present. before that i was kinda friends with 2 others, so i hungout with them a little bit aswell. this made me realise how easily replacable i and they were, given the right circumstance, since we were mostly just regular friends, or simply knew each other

A lot of people took Rick‘s first quote as him being a miserable guy, but he was right. What people literally call love is that attraction, infatuation. He doesn’t acknowledge it, probably because he thinks the actual love is pointless because he makes it clear that he thinks falling in love will leave you miserable, but real love is the commitment part of it. It’s an action, not a feeling. However, people use the word ‘love’ as an expression to tell how they feel, and a lot of times, how they feel is the infatuation part.

Benson's words helped me get closure to a ruined friendship I had with a girl since someone told her I had feelings. She wouldn't talk to me after that, then the pandemic happened and it got me depressed even more. I moved on a year later when I went to college but the need for closure was still there. There was a new girl that I was ready to ask her out but I was too late since she was already seeing another guy. I told her the truth after that and she was fine with it and we continued being friends. In a way, I was healed and relieved that even though she knows I had feelings for her she's fine with it. That was the closure I needed and it honestly felt like Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man saving Tom Holland's MJ falling from the Statue of Liberty.

Empathy is caring about it because you’ve seen it before, maybe you got consoled or not. Point is, what happened to them matters to you. You tell them they have a choice. Sympathy is telling them there’s a lamp over there. Empathy is going into the darkness, where they are.

Our entire conscious experience is the sum of chemical reactions. Love is very real to the angler fish too, but their experience of it is an all too real nightmare relative to our experience. Our lofty ideals of love are born of luck, that is important to remember when attempting to treat love as some kind of force or energy. Whether or not it is a good message has absolutely zero bearing on whether or not it is true.
