Max isn’t a skilled mover. Part of the cost of paying movers is that they know how to move heavy things without getting hurt. And, the employer pays into workers compensation in the event an employee is injured on the job. Nobody wants Max hurt trying to lift a huge heavy marble table. And nobody wants Steve and Terry held liable if Max gets hurt on the job. Nobody wants Max suffering for the rest of his life with back injuries sustained on the job.

I tell you what I've moved a lot of heavy equipment in my time. This guy just ticks me off to no end. Doesn't convey any kind of pre plan or backup plan with his employees. (Which during a lift you should always do.) Expects his employees to know exactly what he is thinking Talks down to his employees when they don't know what he's thinking. Micro Manages to the smallest detail and yet still somehow manages to screw it up. As I was watching him tie the straps down if I hadn't already seen the marble table in the new place during the brittle live stream I would have sworn they were going to break it. Not sure what they charged you but it was to much, especially for a furniture crew to move something that heavy from a difficult location.

It seemed to me that they were just day laborers. I thought he did okay with the pre-planning but he did lose his temper a few times. Having a camera there doesn't help with the stress level either. What did bother me was that nobody used a tape measure. The plan of leaning the slab to the side went out the window when they got it to the stairs and realized it would fit vertically.

@@ibtrollinya69 ive never moved a marble slab this big out of a basement, but guarantee id get the job done as quick as they did. the more important thing here that was already said was there was no pre-planning, i would of made a fixture to slide the table up the stairs and extensions so everyone could equally push it up at the same time. shouldnt bid a job you can't do well.

I found the video painful to watch with all those guys not wearing safety shoes. Sure, there's a limit of how much compression force a top cap can withstand, but it's WELL above the ~500lbs that the marble table weights. Kids, don't try this at home!
@eclark535206 жыл бұрын
Total myth. If something is heavy enough to crush a steel toe in a boot, you wouldn't have toes left regardless. Without a steel toe, your toes would be unrecognizable. With a steel toe, however, they may be able to save them after cutting the boot off. Steel toe shoes are far safer in 100% of incidents where something heavy falls on your foot.

The crack in that marble can be repaired on site at the new shop with food grade epoxy. Find a local granite counter top installer and talk to them about it. I have a family friend that does this often in Las Vegas and the Phoenix area.

Haha love how max is just sitting there enjoying the show with his hand in a puddle of chocolate.

. . . thank you God for wheels! But seriously, this kinda brought me to tears how they worked so hard to get your precious marble slab moved! I mean that slab has history and it's a key piece of equipment. Awesome! (I'm exhausted!)

Steve, At 12:12 i noticed a jack set on cinder blocks where the center of the marble slab is located. While i can appreciate the existing stand need some help in supporting the weigh, it would be a huge disaster if that slab were ever to have all of it's weight supported in the center at any given time. Those cinder blocks and jack had the potential to cut that slab in half.

Since we had seen the later video first, we knew that they were able to move the slab, but even so it was hold your breath time watching this! I was afraid one of them was going to get hurt. I am so glad everyone survived. I am glad the marble survived; even with a crack! This was a good video.

I would never hire Mark in the green shirt if you paid me a million dollars. He is rude and disrespectful to his staff

I'm late on seeing this and couldn't agree more. Not professional at all!!! He is condescending to the employees! I'm glad they got it out! He kept saying references like he was moving it himself. I kinda felt bad Steve and company, and the movers, to have to see that green shirt guy acting like that! Gosh be professional!

Yess. This was worth the wait. New it would be a pain in the butt. But they did it. Great job to the movers. Congrats getting everything moved. Look forward to new videos, especially seeing your dad and Max in the starch room. Way more room in there now. Can't wait.

I love when the moving guys get curious and start asking questions about the equipment. Not only do they learn, but so do we.

Oh my goodness! This video had me holding my breath and cheering the guys on. What a task! Seriously, when they got the slab to the top of the stairs I was hands in the air YAY! When they got the thing into the truck and then finally onto the stand in the store...more cheering! Did they guys need to see a chiropractor later?

Oh, my gosh! Even though I knew the table was already in the store, being used, I was still having anxiety just watching! What a job! The crew sure earned their $$ this day. Hopefully, the boss took them out for a drink afterwards.

This was soooo exciting! The movers were great. What a relief to know the marble slab is now in its new home. It will be smooth sailing from now on.

Syracuse moving company life time members of the “pick things up put things down” club. Wow, the stories that slab of marble could tell. Thanks for allowing us to join in the journey. Now I’m going to need to partake in a cold one to calm my nerves. Thought they might lose it on the stairs 🙌 💪.
