Love this concept, Craig. You are definitely adding something big to the business by making these videos that no one has seen the likes of which before. Everyone seems to be comfortable with being themselves in front of the camera. I have a watched a surprising amount of your videos this past Summer. It has inspired me to consider that I can make these things too with some patience. Of course, the more skilled the hand the better the product, so I have no doubt your confections are miles ahead. Buying your candies is the least I can do for your igniting a passion in me. I think Max is right: the walls were warm with the patina of history at the other place. Maybe get something on the walls to dull down the lights. Photos of chocolate - or even better, chocolate makers of yesteryear!- seems like a nice idea.

i owned a trophy/screenprinting/convenience store (yes, weird combination) which was attached to my house, we used the entire basement, too. bad wiring, janky plumbing, things piled on top of each other, paperwork everywhere, limited room, and anyone looking at it would have to wonder how the hell we accomplished anything. but, it had a history and comfort to it a new shop would never be able to compete with. when your little corner of the world is uprooted in the name of 'growing up' i imagine it would be a tough transition. congrats on the new store, and hope it becomes as aesthetically pleasing to look at as the other place.

I bet Max is SO GLAD for the new way to do the fluffer nutter cups. Watching him do it the old way is excruciating...and I mean that in the nicest way possible. Just shows how truly dedicated they are to homemade, small-batch candy...one by one spreading peanut butter and fluff each by the knifeful and then finishing with a hand-dolloped blob of chocolate.

Put the tray in the freezer for 5 to 10 minutes. It should be easier to get the cups out. Or leave them in the fridge longer

The cellar was so homey and rustic looking. It was so unique. The people who work there are what is most important though. But now you can't run up to the kitchen to eat when your hungry though! Maybe you should put a small kitchen in there and a table where you can all sit around and have lunch! Oh, lunch and break talk can be very interesting!

Know what your store needs? Semi transparent window wraps depicting candy. So you see the candy from the outside but can somewhat still see outside.

Silicone molds, or perhaps something with compressed air could help getting those cups out way easier. Though the silicone molds would be the easiest and less reliant on a new device.

I think finding a theme for your store, and using paint to implement the theme would look awesome. Wether it be whimsical, old-timey, or modern, finding a theme will help make the store more interesting and look more like a candy store. I love watching you guys and wish you nothing but success! Isn’t Cara(sp?) an artist? She could help paint murals? Or you can also buy wall stickers(vinyl) with interesting pictures to help:)

Wouldn’t it be faster to use a pastry bag to top 2-3 trays of peanut butter cups? The speed it could be done would prevent the temperature changing significantly. Then quickly empty it before transferring the trays to the fridge and refilling it to do the next batch.
