Excellent advice Teela… love the new look, relaxed in your environment, inviting everyone in. ‘Paying it Forward’ - I believe that helping people out should also include accountability for people to help others they meet and in turn help them out. As a seasoned professional you freely share your knowledge and experience and in turn we benefit from your instruction. I believe that we each have a duty to shout about Teela and her incredible art or simply put ‘Paying it Forward’ no strings attached. More please Teela.

Thanks Teela. It’s so nice to see you in person talking to your audience and showing us your process. I would love it if you could make a video on how you prepare your digital files in more detail including how you size your images for all the different platforms, how you organize your files and how you make your own mock ups unique because as you know that can make a big difference in sales.

Thanks so much Teela! This advice is SPOT ON..just what I need! Ive had an Etsy coloring page shop for 3 years, 50 products, over 600 sales, but coloring pages are such a low priced item...that's the issue! Tops - $20 per month..uggh. I have a ton of 5 star reviews, so maybe I can come up with a higher priced digital product that I can add to my shop (?) Thanks, I cant wait to see your next video in this series. BTW - your home in the country looks so peaceful - thanks for sharing! Question: Do you think Etsy is too saturated and not a great place for a digital shop?
@EveryTuesday10 ай бұрын
Yay! So happy that it came at a good time! With how overwhelmed Etsy has become with sub-par digital products produced with AI and no policing, I would definitely explore other sites. That doesn't mean you need to take down what you have there, but I'd invest your time moving forward with other marketplaces to open additional income streams using the same products! There's no exclusive selling agreement with most of them, so you can sell the same products multiple places to get in front of different crowds 👍

Thanks so much Teela! Appreciate your feedback! I've been doing some research and just makes me sick about the AI invasion on Etsy, and really sad that Etsy has not responded with some kind of policy. Moving forward!! @@EveryTuesday

I LOVED this video! So if your heart was racing was because of a good reason!! Seeing part of your space and your morning routine is lovely! I’ve always seen digital part but haven’t really thought about it until now. I also work on procreate and I loved that you painted and created your brushes from scratch! That creating phase could be my favourite! So do you recommend opening a store on creative market or the other you mentioned? Is there a minimum of listings we should add. Like on Etsy they say the more listings the better around 100…thank you!!
@EveryTuesday10 ай бұрын
Aww thank you so much! ❤️ Def going to have a future vid on my recommendations of where to sell but yes - the 3 I mentioned are a great place to start (Creative Market can be hard to get accepted as a seller unless you have an existing portfolio of digital goods - but the others should work fine!). I'd also explore self hosting, too, so your commission is higher and you get to determine your own licenses (but more on that in an upcoming vid!). I would def stay away from Etsy right now; pushing sellers to create SO many items just encourages lower quality and now most of their digital goods are just AI renders with no policing :(

Beautiful video! I just want to come create with you now. Also, I personally would love more ideas of how to sell completed digital artwork. So I'm thinking about things like redbubble, fabric print on demand sites and all the things I don't know about yet but need to. Plus a discussion of the benefits of selling from your own website vs another platform like creative market, etsy, etc.

Thank you, Teela! I love these videos. And loving your Gouache course! Teela, I am struggling with my laptop - it needs upgrading, because anytime I open Adobe program, it crashes. What would be the optimum specs to have in a computer. I was thinking desktop, cuz it's hard to see when working on a small laptop screen. (I use PC + iPad, so, either OS is OK for me) Maybe you could make a video on that - what to look for in computers for designers and what to avoid. I am sure you'd have a great incite. TY!

Hey! I currently have a base model Macbook Air (M1) which runs my Adobe programs without any issues. As far as desktops, a base iMac would also do the trick - upgrade ram and storage if it's in the budget. Feel free to send over an email if you're looking at anything specific you'd like feedback on before purchasing! :)

I love your house and super envious of your art room! Wow. What sites are the best to sell on? I had an Etsy shop but it seemed like a full time job competing on there. I haven’t tried creative market yet. Maybe this is a topic for another video? Would love to hear your take.
@EveryTuesday10 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! Yes, this is def an upcoming video! I would avoid Etsy for sure. Creative Market can be difficult to be accepted as a seller if you're new to selling, but there are many other marketplace options, as well as self hosted! The three I mentioned in the vid would be my top recommendations for marketplaces right now 👍

Hi Teela! My biggest problem and it stops me from drawing on procreate is that I don't know how to get my drawn design to transfer to my computer with the same colors and quality. Often times when I upload to my desktop the design looks not as bright. My intention is to sell digital downloads that people then print.
@EveryTuesday7 ай бұрын
In this scenario, I'd provide your files as RGB and CMYK to give extra flexibility to your customers. You'll want to make sure the color profile for the program you're looking at them in on your computer matches the color profile of the file - then you'll see a closer match on your desktop 👍

I just want to know how to upload photos of art I’ve created that can be sized up and printed by a 3rd party, either on paper or canvas, with or without frame. I’m overwhelmed and just stay stuck with the entire “get it going already” part. I don’t want people to just be able to right click and save my work either 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
@EveryTuesday10 ай бұрын
The preview image of your artwork is always a low res, web version, so no need to worry about someone being able to steal a high quality version of it. As far as uploading the art - each marketplace has detailed instructions of what and how to upload, so don't worry about getting too caught up on the details with frames, etc. Follow their instructions and you'll be on your way quickly!
