Another great video Andy. I used to know one of the last mine owners/miners... Lindsey Greenbank. He was one of a partnership of 3 guys... they worked it as a hobby at weekends in the 1980's. They were mainly looking for mineral specimens. They got a fair bit of Zinc Blende out. It was last worked commercially by Mckeccnie Brothers in the 1960's🤔 for Bryrtes, and a bit of the Zinc Blende. Lindsay ( sadly passed away now) and his mates packed in after they had a bad collapse... while they were away doing their day jobs! Hopefully that might fill a few gaps in your knowledge of Force Crag mine. ATB cheers Alistair 👍

Hi Andy, your depth of knowledge of the Lake District is really impressive, and your love and enthusiasm for wild camping and being out in all weathers infectious. What singles your videos out in particular is the way you take the time to explain in detail the geography of the area you are walking in, which gives the viewer a real sense of place. Another very watchable piece of film-making.

Nice one as always Andy, that looked like a great camp. Those Showa 282 Temres gloves are well worth a try because they are really easy to get on and off even when your hands get wet you can do pretty much all you need to do with them on like handle poles and pegs and even tying guy lines up and hip belt pockets and strap adjustment without too much difficulty . They are lined and breathable and easy to wash and dry and the best bit is they only cost £20. The only negatives are they look a bit dorky and they have gauntlet style cuffs but i always wear waterproof jackets 2 sizes bigger so the longer sleeves not only add extra wind and rain protection but they hide most of the glove and they only come in blue and the biggest size i have is size 9 and would prefer a size ten . I have got other gloves that cost 4 and 5 times the price but these are my go to pitching and striking camp gloves in the wet and cold and then i use Montane prisms if its dry for everything else. The art of gloving up is a bit of a challenge in cold wet conditions but this combo cost 60 quid all in and works a treat for me .ATVB

cheers Olan i took a look at those but ive gone & bought some buffalo mitts..theyre great wore them on latest camp & tbh my hands were that warm i ended up taking them off lol..ive a pair of Rab primaloft gloves i wear too similar to the montane prism..

I noticed that , they must be good then and at least you have found a solution. I prompted myself to buy another pair of the Termes but this time i managed to get them inn a size 10. These are great for getting on and off with cold wet hands and handling tent poles and walking poles , pegs and rucksack straps and belts etc@@AndrewBeavers
