I really can't credit Balatro enough for how it does Endless mode. I was the same way about thinking that Endless is never really that good, but the way that scoring interacts with the quickly-ramping blinds mean that Endless doesn't drag and actually feels like a matter of strategy against a perilous challenge rather than a grind.

@@johnathanp6133 i mean hes learned twice thats why. same thing happened the first 2 times i saw him use obelisk. chat did the same thing. he learned through trial and error and obselisk ended up getting messed up in the end because he didnt play enough hands early game. i was a type A chatter early on but hes learning. hes honestly making big plays lately.

@@Haanski yeah I have never been a huge gamer, and not do I have a gaming PC, but balatro runs so well on my laptop and is helpful when I have to stay up late for a night nursing shift and flip flop my sleep schedule. Time flies and it keeps me awake.

flat mult sucks. don't know why chat keeps suggesting it at late game. gets quickly outscaled due to planet card upgrades a +20 mult joker might seem like a lot when your base mult is low and you have crazy multiple 2x, 3x mult jokers. but a +20 mult joker to a 40mult hand type is equivalent to a 1.5x joker. it gets even worse when you have any holographic cards or you already have a flat mult card. for example scholar was giving usually +20 mult per hand becoming basically a 1.5x joker. adding jolly joker, a +8 mult, to a +60 mult hand is equivalent to a 1.13x joker you can find much better times mult jokers than flat mult late game. scholar was fine since there was red seals to consider but adding another flat mult card makes both cards a lot less significant compared to even the weakest of times mult cards

i’m wondering when it’s good to scale chips too. obviously when your mult is higher than chips the marginal value of 1 extra chip is worth more than 1 extra mult in a vacuum. but considering i haven’t seen any jokers that multiply chip amounts it probably just makes more sense to get as many high mult multiplier jokers as possible to scale

@@myspicyclips6402I was running retrigger 2’s only and I got to like 2.3k chips on the wee joker. But in the end for an upgraded flush five this is basically a 5x mult(or 4 1.5 mult procs). That’s not counting any foils or base chips or +30 enhancements. Other than wee joker I don’t see any point in chip jokers after like ante 6 on gold stake.

Ride the Bus you saw late might have worked with a bit of caution, cus A is not a face card. Also someone said Fibo tops out at +40 but some of your aces were red sealed so it could potentially get to +80. Also foils/polychrome/holographic edition (in addition to seals you mentioned) are not considered enhancements so the dream is to have one of each on the same card edition+enhance+seal and repeatedly clone that

He truly is almost endless pilled. Selling astronaut 2-7 rounds earlier is really my only type A chatter style criticism of the run. Literally any additive mult joker instead could have extended it quite a bit, but still a very heady yet well executed strat by the egg.

I think flat mult is overrated. i’d rather have 5 mult multipliers than 1 flat mult. They scale the score much faster. think about it like this, if you’re already generating 50 mult, a +50 mult is equivalent to a 2x mult. 2x mult is much either to come by than +50 mult, and it also scales muuuuch better endlessly with other xmults.

xmult is definitely more important than flat mult, though flat mult is more significant in the early game when you're playing like, 50 chips before multipliers and a mult 20 is worthwhile. I think unless you're playing it yourself and reaching high antes, it gives the impression that flat mult is more important than it really is; I know I overvalued it when I started playing

Hemomancer and Obelisk are both multiplications. Multiplication is commutative , so the order doesn't matter 5*4*2 = 2*4*5 etc

For Obelisk, when the Ace build is popping, the High Card pre-jack is helpful but ultimately doesn't need to happen. If/when you get to the point where 4 or 5 of a kind is the most played hand, can't you just switch between the two to avoid playing the newly highest hand?

Tbf, it's not exactly clear what falls under "enhanced" when there are... 3 different mechanics for what a card can have? There's the foil, the enhancement and the seal. They all enhance the cards, but only one of them is an enhancement. I don't get confused but I can see why he does.

Vampire is a bad joker. Glass cards with dna is busted then when you have enough glass you can get seals to play them twice, get hack to play them again, get seltzer to play them again you now have glass cards that duplicate and multiply by x16 each
