For 40$ more I’d recommend the Arcturus 416 replica from Taiwangun, it’s all metal and the internals are so much better, it just doesn’t have the trademarks.

The internals of this are cyma and have a mosfet, arcturus internals are somewhat questionable actually and aren't super amazing

@@totallyunrelated1292 the Cyma mosfet is known to fry easily and the nozzle, nub and bucking are all subpar. Once replaced it’s a great gearbox. I have both an Arcturus and Cyma platinum and they are both good, but without all the upgrades to the cyma I did it’s better but I also had to spend $200+ on parts.

I have one of the 416A5 comps in black, it's definitely a great shooter and is pretty accurate, and rate of fire is great as well. Mag selection is pretty picky. I've had good luck with the stock mag it came with an mostly polymer STANAGs, so be wary of that if anyone is planning on buying one. I'd definitely recommend it though.

I noticed you ran a 7.4V. It can take an 11.1V lipo. It wakes it up way more. I have an HK416A5 comp and I run an 11.1V. Its fantastic

Honestly would be interesting to see you do a sotb of a Raptor PKP/A&K PKM/PK. Both brands are basically the same, and I know the eventual outcome. The gearbox will probably break before the day is done. If not the gearbox it will be the box mag.

for a starter gun id suggest both the cyma ak series and the gng combat machine. I had both at one point and both still work great but just with friends instead of mine now.

Personally, I went with an AR platform because there's a wide range of upgrades that are easily interchangeable. Also, don't splurge immediately. Get something affordable. Once you start playing, you learn what you like and don't like about it, which will help inform you on what to buy/upgrade next. I started with basically nothing and a cheap $100 rifle, and now I'm almost fully kitted out every weekend. Same goes with gear attachments.

best advice is, do you want to be competitive or just do it for fun, if your just the "for fun guy" then go with what ever you think looks good, if you want to be competitive, then go the way of "using a donor body" and then upgrade the gun to your needs, in general that means the m4 way since there are most parts for that on the market.. Also for 9/10 people starting with a sniper is not smart, since it's like playing airsoft on hard mode, and is prob better for people who already know a little, those also tend to have a bigger MED and will give new players problems if they dont keep the MED'S etc.. And last thing is, use what you like, dont just do what people tell you, you can ask 69 people and they will give you 69 answers about what is the best etc..

For most, if not all guns, that’s obviously not a good thing. Check the motor grip screw on the bottom to see if it’s too tight. If the motor is pushed too high up, it’ll grind and sound bad when you fire it. Also when you fire in quick succession, the motor will get hot

A few years ago I went through Basic Training and was discharged under medical conditions and I have had several newer veterans as well as a few times deployed veterans tell me that because I swore in and went to Basic Training and was discharged honorably that I am technically a veteran. I dont really care for the competition series a5, maybe because I want to feel special and "flex" that I can afford a $550 toy gun on the airsoft field, but honestly, the competition sounds horrible, it does not excite me. to be fair my a5 did not sound great either, but it sounded better, and ofcourse after I shimmed it sounds super clean, downside is I cannot get the internal gearset to break, probably close to 50,000 rds with a m140 out of my a5 and the only "malfunction" is the stock motor over heating and locking up due to the weight of the spring.
