The energy and atmosphere started in the parking lot far before the game. Fans of both teams tailgating together, island music blasting, nothing but love all around. I was at the game and Kahuku did very well even though the score doesn’t show it. Bosco couldn’t pass on Kahuku but they ran up and down the field because Kahuku played the pass first then run which carved their defense up. Offense had a lot of missed blocks on the screens and Kahuku should of did a lot of misdirection runs into play actions to help the oline. Kahuku has always had the talent but get out schemed in the coaching and play calling. Kahuku is a play the run and blitz the qb kind of defense which they did the opposite and didn’t blitz once. Offense is a roll out pass and pound the ball to wear out the defense which they didn’t and tried the short pass and screen game. Nonetheless Bosco is very skilled in every position and their scheme is pretty simple but they execute it well. They literally play take what the defense gives you. Kahuku had a 5 man box the entire game which pretty much tells the offense to run up the gut. On 3rd downs when Kahukus dbs gave the receivers a cushion they did a quick short pass which turned out to 6-10+ yds. On a side note, Kahuku doesn’t recruit, if anything they lose home grown talent to private schools even to Mater Dei. The kids from Utah that comeback home to play doesn’t mean Kahuku recruits. Their parents are typically alumnus from Kahuku who moved out of state and send their kids back or move back.

St John Bosco is hammahz. That being said they recruit all over and that's why they are number on out of Hawai'i and america. Kahuku doesn't recruit and all these guys are from one part of one small island in the middle of the sea.

Bosco recruits only from Inside Cali and the district. But since Cali is like 10x the size of Hawaii they get 10x more the talent and size. Not just that but the coaches is like college-tier. Very hard to fight a team that doesn’t have a weakness. Just like St Louis, they only recruit island-bound and got the coaches to back it up. That being said, this year’s Kahuku squad was pretty top tier overall. 15/22 of their starters has at least 1 D1 college offer. Which made them so dominant state-wise.

Hey Jonathan they don't recruit bud it's illegal CIF rule book you can read it you cannot talk to any body about a child to come to your private school especially especially especially a religious school read the rule book man it tells you right there they just offer scholarships for these programs they do not recruit got to remember these are underage children How Do You Talk to an underage child to come to your school read the rule book get CIF Blue Book rule they take transfers , and offer scholarships,,now that said you're right they should be in the league's All their own throughout the country but get this there's California teams have beat these teams before these are not unbeatable teams they can lose this happens every couple years or so so we got public schools in California can beat these teams but they should have their own leagues and ratings because it is an unfair advantage but they don't recruit that's against CF rules

I disagree. Lot of top notch public schools in Cali. Just look at national ranking in the top fifty . Long Beach Poly, Corona Centennial , Los Alamitos, Folsom, Los Alamitos, and many others , Pittsburg from Nor Cal all play top quality football and par or with Texas, Florida or any state . Not to mention many top notch private schools like De La Salle, Serra of San Mateo, Servite and many others. Top quality football is played throughout the state. St John Bosco and Mater Dei are on a different level. Simply the best in the country over the last few years

Hey Nate we got a couple of public schools can compete there's a couple Get this Nate once in awhile our Public Schools beat these teams you see this is a normal Friday night in SoCal football we don't call them privates and we don't call them Publix we call it high school football there's so many private schools in SoCal and NoCal that every public school has to play some type of private school so what no big deal it's just another Friday night we just don't call them that, tell you something we got Corona Centennial Mission Viejo we got Long Beach Poly Grant Pittsburgh there's some good Public Schools can compete with you boys sure like to see that happen someday but for some reason Texas avoid these teams they also void some other teams too for some reason and we all know what that reason is come on Westlake come on North Shore you know I'm talking to you play somebody

@@n88te oh God no I left California years ago that place is a piss hole I just like my high school football I always thought California can compete with a lot of the country well I won't say all California probably four or five teams that's about it because there's so many private schools in SoCal every city has private schools so the talent is diluted because of public schools are pieces of crap in California,,, that's why MD Saint John's is so good because the Southern California Basin there's literally millions of kids that could choose from if those kids can't go to those schools they go to other private schools but there's like three good public schools that can compete with any team in the country especially Texas,, now I said compete not when but I think we're going to find that out in the next couple years I think Texas top two teams will have to play out of state here pretty soon
