It's like reading an early fan translation of a manga and loving it only to realize your favourite character's mannerisms of speech are totally different in the official translation.

Japanese to English is very subjective if you actually fix it to not read like "engrish" as they say, so it will normally be a bit different depending on who translates it; and you can tell the difference between someone trying to portray the literal sentence accurately VS trying to portray the *meaning* and tone of the sentence accurately.
