I don't know if it was intentionally cheeky, but I like that you were all "I don't want to make anyone sad about 'going commercial'...now here's some merch!" lol. Kinda wish it had been even more overt, honestly, just to make the point that you are actually *working* like the rest of us. But in all seriousness I've really appreciated your videos. Haven't watched all that many of them start to finish (just because of the amount of time and energy I have for baking vs my other projects), but they're a phenomenal resource! Down to earth and straightforward explanations of a process that can be maddeningly complex. And I'm glad to see you're getting compensated for what you're doing and the impact you're having, because you deserve it. And the folks who are paying for the home bakers club deserve to see their money's worth! Best of luck in that and all your future endeavors! :) (Honestly I just hope you're keeping all the other videos and articles up, because I'm a penny pinching scrooge lol...and really because I probably don't have time for a home bakers club. But even if you just took *everything* down and only made content accessible through some exorbitant pay wall, I still wouldn't be having hard feelings for someone else just trying to make a living in the world.)

Because of you I am getting closer to becoming the bread baker I had wanted to be for a long time. Because of this I've become brave enough to tackle many other cooking recipes and I'm doing pretty damn good. My spouse is even talking about remodeling the kitchen to make it more high end so that I wouldn't be limited, which I am right now with a kitchen designed for someone that didn't cook much and live an in area where everyone eats out anyway. I find this quite a compliment that I deserve a chefs/bakery chefs kitchen. You have changed only in the sense that you keep getting better. You brought me into a new hobby that I really enjoy and I will forever be grateful. I'm forever a fan.

Your expressions are blurt out at random, like, “Hey home bakers…!” and “Crumbs!” all hours of the day. Your wonderfully British brioche- baked disposition could never disappoint. I have your past videos to access, so no need to fret. On a side note, as ironic as this is, I was making oatmeal this morning(yes, kids idea, yes I know it’s summer) and I was thinking of watching a past video of yours! Plus, my kids were also wondering where you’ve been, so this was like a greatly timed opportunity to “touch bases”. Glad to see you’re ok, please don’t over do things, peace and blessings to your wonderful family, and thanks! 🥰

I can’t believe you’ve been upset by what unkind people have said Jack. I agree with previous comments I’ve been watching your fantastic (FREE!) clips for a number of years now, I see subscribing to the Homebakers Club as giving back a little of what you have so generously given me! You need to do what works best for you and your family. Please try and ignore the negative comments, it’s always going to happen. I will watch whatever you do even it’s once a year. I have your book and your lovely loaf tins (perfect size!) and I will be buying some new blue scrappers and proving cloths soon. Stay true to yourself Jack, you are and always will be an inspiration to all of us home breadmakers. ☺️

Great to see you again, Jack. I certainly have no problem with commercial content. I was one of those lobbying for a book before there was a book. I even urged the use of pre-content adverts (not the kind that blow up a presentation midstream) to enhance revenue. It all comes down to a matter of taste. You have that in abundance plus your charming, engaging manner. Have no qualms. Press on.

I started making your sourdough loaf in 2021. I’m still making the bread and still using the same starter, your method, that I made at the beginning. I still use your grignette and your book. I made two loaves today and am still amazed at how beautiful they always are. Very rarely eat shop bought bread. Just M&S baguettes occasionally as can’t seem to get to grips with making them, more practice needed I expect. I’m looking forward to your new videos. Keep going. Best wishes.

I bake my best bread since watching your tube broadcasts, only found the channel a couple of months ago. 130 yeasted loaf start to finish is my favourite, I use steam and switch off the oven at the beginning of the bake,next upgrade a baking stone, what’s not to like? Thank you Jack and good luck.

Jack, sorry to lose ya, it has been great, continue to watch your videos for tips etc. Your merchandise is great. Teaching my 10 yr old son how to make buns (he eats fresh buns non stop), time he can learn how to make his own, told him to start watching your videos to understand the baking process.

If you were to disappear tomorrow you have already given me more than I can ever thank you enough for. You have 10 years, and I guess I have been along for the last 4 years. In that time you have given me the confidence to experiment. The knowledge that it ia extremely difficult to make bad bread - well forgetting to add the 10g of salt does qualify for that. I (and my wife who eats my products before they fully cool) thank you for the bloomer, the no-knead recipes, the sourdough tips and not forgetting the baguettes. I did a bloomer for a visit from my son recently and he just would not believe that it wasn't bought bread. The credit for that goes to you for your patient and simple explanations.
