Soldiers rescued a man clinging to a fence in a flooded area in the city of Porto Alegre. Emergency workers also rescued a horse that had been trapped for days on a rooftop. More than 165,000 people have been displaced from flooded homes and rescued by boats and helicopters, with many taking refuge at makeshift shelters.

Despite the fact that only the army and firefighters appears in the video, 99% of the work is being done by the civilian population. The government only showed up to make the job more difficult, holding donations, closing feeding points and even giving tickets to volunteers without a boat license. The army arrived with boats without engines and they had to be rescued by the volunteers.

We live in a globalized world, with practically unrestricted access to information. Why do they continue to support the fallacy of deforestation in the Amazon? Brazil preserves around 60-65% of its native vegetation, in addition to having a mostly clean energy matrix. 80% renewable energy generation.
