The most heartbreaking part to me is how they just climb on Kong's body like he's nothing. We know him a majestic and gentle king while the reporters just see a "dumb animal". I had actually made the whole movie without crying, but this part broke me. We humans truly are a cruel, pathetic race, aren't we.....

Kong was the king of his world. He feared nothing and no one. But when he saw the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life, his heart became soft. When the airplanes attacked, he feared for Ann's life, so he risked his life to protect her. Just like a real gorilla would protect its family under threat. Kong sacrificed himself so Ann could live. And that's why Denham says: "It was beauty killed the beast"
@ebmosier111 жыл бұрын
I cry every time I watch this. Poor Kong; I don't think he loved her in a romantic way (though it's certainly possible). I think he just thought of her as a companion who, for once, wasn't trying to kill him or hurt him. And Andy Serkis was robbed of an Oscar - again!

I don't think that Kong exactly knew that he would be shot to death, but he did know that he couldn't face the new enemies here, and that he wasn't at the top of the food chain anymore. He went to the top of the Empire State Building because he knew that they were going to catch up to him anyway, and he wanted to be able to have some peace and quiet before they did, and to die with his only friend by his side.

Elana Hayes I didn't cry but it was emotional and they made it just like the 1933 classic.when I was 6 years old my aunt took me to see king kong 1976.for almost 40 years ago and no cgi and the tech.now it was a good movie.i remember they were spraying him with fire guns and it was burning him and he actually jumped from one trade center to the other.this king kong was more of an updated one it didn't have 1933 biplanes with machine guns it had at the time up to date like I don't know apache helicopters with powerful machine guns and I remember everytime they hit him it was bloody I wished for a second he was Godzilla NOT THE 98 I REPEAT NOT THE 98 FAIL but the real Godzilla where it wouldn't have even hurt him because of his incredibly tough hide and all he had to do was shoot his radiation ray at every plane ball game but how would he get down ha ha.it's still so startling to see a kong movie and realize how small he is compared to Godzilla.i would love to see a big budget summer serious blockbuster movie Godzilla vs king kong.it would make a billion dollars worldwide.godzilla 2014 made half a billion worldwide hence the sequel in 2018 because gareth Edwards had already signed on to do some star wars thing so G-MAN2 isn't coming out until 2018 but for hardcore Godzilla fans its a blessing because toho is going to reboot their own Godzilla in 2016 what a dream for a G-FAN 3 Godzilla movies in 4 years the Godzilla 2014 was good but it took way too long to see Godzilla the actors were boring I know kill me it had bryan Cranston in it and when Godzilla finally starts fighting these 2 monsters they would pan away to the humans it was driving people in the theatre crazy show the fight and just leave it there.the best thing to come out of the movie is it almost has unburned that holy disaster in98 Godzilla running from heicopters eating fish its like emmerich and the other dingbat never saw the other 20 Godzilla movies made.the military has never ever stopped Godzilla but a king kong vs Godzilla summer blockbuster would make I think a billion dollars worldwide what do you think they would have to explain somehow how they are able to make kong zillas size or you know what don't exlain it al let them fight!!!!!unfortunately we will never see it because they're too many chefs in the kitchen.universal owns kong toho owns 90% of Godzilla then you have warner bros. and legendary and you know theyre gonna make it a tie of some sorts theres no way the companies that own the monsters are going let the other monster just flat out win I don't know what do you think

This is why people get so passionate about monsters. As Ishiro Honda once said, "The tragedy of monsters is that they're born too tall, too strong and too heavy," a saying that perfectly describes both Kong and Godzilla. Both are tragic characters, both are victims and strangely innocent but killed by man simply because they are monsters.

Define monster. Kong was gentle and compassionate given half the chance. A monster is someone who does heinous things to defenseless victims whether human or other. Find the monsters here. He never asked to be captured.

@Billy Bean that's what makes the movie that much more effective. Logically you would side with the people who are dying if you were a normal person, but since the viewer gets to see that this beast is capable of love and realizes that he is the last of his kind, doomed to die because of the one he loved, you actually feel some sort of pity for him. Plus it doesn't help the soundtrack is just on point to set the mood.

The original movie was back in the 1930's, which is where the line originated. They spoke slightly different then. Since that is one of the most iconic lines in any movie, they kept it the same.
@lisardo4 жыл бұрын
Only trouble it this version didn't touch on this subject at all, then he said the line at the end. Didn't seem to fit. In the original 1933 film, Denham talks to Jack about his sprouting love affair with Ann, and how a toughened guy like him cracks when "beauty takes him". And that was the theme of the film he was trying to make, which also was the theme of Kong's obsession with Ann, as it turned out. "Beauty got him, he turned all sappy." So at the end, it makes perfect sense when Denham says, "No, it wasn't the airplanes. It was beauty killed the beast."
Jack Black is perfect for every role. He's the overweight, foul-mouthed, child-like Chuck Norris. :D
@afriendofbean11 жыл бұрын
I feel the same way, especially because King Kong always took care of Ann, and he was the reason why Ann never died from those dinosaurs on the island since he saved her from them. Also, Ann almost fell off the Empire State Building and he caught her and saved her. It was also sad to see Ann crying because of him falling and dying.

King Kong isnt a bad gorilla.. he is a hero and a nice guy.. The main reason why they killed Kong is because hes Huge and people thinks hes dangerous because he got 1 arm out of the Lock thing in the show.. and the people feel like Kong was going to attack them because he grabbed the lady that was strapped because he was trying to tell her to let him out Kong didnt destroy the city purposely.. it was everyone over reaction to how big he is.. He aint hurt no one. He broke out of the building to look for the girl because his anxiety was bothering him so thats how he broke out of the lock
