I really love a date with myself. It's so important to help maintain other relationships because if I can ground myself, then I can be present for others instead of exhausted and even resentful. It helps me keep on course with my life if I can touch base with my values and how I'm living up to them. Actually , a video on going on dates with yourself might be eye opening for some people who would not think of it! Lol it is not sad at all, it is strong and so rewarding. The trouble it can be so easy to break promises with yourself that you wouldn't with others.

I love De Efteling and realised now it’s been far too long I’ve been. I’ve telling myself I’ll visit Winter Efteling for so many years and never have😢. I live in Belgium, am 65 but at De Efteling I can still meet my inner child. I’ve started walking in the beginning of August because I stumbled upon a podcast of a lovely American gentleman who takes a daily 10 minute walk with you talking about many different topics. Of course he walks more each day and so do I, but since I have to catch up because he started the podcast in 2020, I walk one hour each morning listening to his soothing voice. My first promise to myself is a 90 day chain and I haven’t missed a day because even if I just may not feel like going out every day, I NOT going to break the chain! Good to have you back. Smart thing that staycation.

Dear Vera, I love it when you reiterate how travel is a challenge for highly sensitive people - I relate and feel seen and validated. Although I love the idea of travel I have not travelled for many years (and therefore not even seen my family) because I simply get ill. Luckily I absolutely love my home and am very happy to stay home - but the feeling of being weird remains… Thank you for this lovely video - it’s good if you can keep the pressure off yourself and keep the joy you have had making these videos over the years - and I am sure your channel will continue to thrive if you are not „constantly producing perfect content“ - we all love you for who you are and are grateful for everything you offer ❤❤❤

One suggestion I would have for a future video would be “Caring for yourself/Surviving when life doesn’t go as planned”. Our youngest son has been diagnosed with a debilitating, chronic illness and is completely home bound at age 22. Our lives (and more importantly, his) have been turned completely upside down. Coping when so much is out of our control is hard. Gratitude, self-care, slow living and finding the light in the darkness are some strategies that have helped a lot but I would love more ideas. I’m sure there are many people on here who find themselves in very challenging circumstances. . . for a variety of different reasons. Thanks for all you do. ❤️

I’m just a stranger on the Internet, but I care about you and your family’s well-being, and I wish for your son to have moments he can still feel good inside, regardless of this new situation 💗 although I don’t share the same situation or have the knowledge of a healthcare professional, I find that laughter is such an underrated medicine, even for just a little while. Finding something to laugh or smile hard at is so important during dark times. Does he have any interests or shows he likes? Finding silly things related to that also helps relieve some tension because it gets you out of your head 🫶🏻

Hi Vera, I m glad your 2 weeks were restful. I'm a Dutch woman who moved to Canada when I was a teen. I'm learning to be fluent in Dutch again now that I'm retired. My mom has aphasia and dementia and I find speaking in Dutch with her helps her understand me better. I've followed you since you started because of your amazing content. You continue to help me navigate my life, simplify , calm my mind, and find peace in a chaotic world. My mom has requested assistance in death and will soon be gone. I lost my father two years ago. I would love to hear about ways others heal from loss and find joy after difficulty. Also, whenever I see your videos, I feel a bit closer to my Dutch roots. Your accent and your manners are so soothing and familiar to me. They make me feel like I'm home somehow. Thanks for all you do....

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful comment Natascha. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's passing and your mom soon as well. That must be so tough to deal with. Sending a big hug, comfort and strength your way. I hope you're also taking good care of you, and being extra with all the self care you might need. About your request, I've been lucky in life so far and haven't had to deal with much loss or grief, so I don't know if I feel qualified to give advice there. I hope there are other resources out there from people who have more to share about these things that could be helpful for you. I know Lana Blakely has a video about grief (kzbin.info/www/bejne/inWbp4d-idN5laM) that I thought was very beautifully worded. I watched it a long while ago and don't remember everything, so maybe it's not really relevant for you, but I thought I'd share it. Take good care!!!

Sometimes it means taking advantage of what is in your own town, or maybe even going to a nearby city or town for a bit of a change of scene. Much less stress than travelling abroad. It's my favourite kind of holiday. It's so charming to hear you ask, "how are you doing?" For future videos, my interest is mainly about the subject of being an HSP but I also like knowing more about Dutch culture. Vera, I used to be very, very allergic to cat and dog fur. I could barely be around them; if a cat walked by even two meters away, I would start sneezing, and my eyes would get red and itchy. The approach I took was the opposite of what you'd expect -what I call "shock therapy", hahaha. I began spending time around cats and dogs regularly, petting them, and gradually my allergy started to disappear. Now I work as a pet sitter, and sometimes I even sleep with cats practically on my face, haha. Very rarely, I might have a mild allergic reaction, but things have completely changed for me. It used to make me really sad not being able to be in contact with animals, but now that's no longer an issue. Don’t lose hope!

I love your videos, Vera. Especially the chat ones. It's always good to have a change of pace. I loved what you bought, particularly the tea cups and the ninja memo pad. It will always put a smile on your face when you use them 😊😊😊😊

Thank you Vera, this is my cup of tea. I’m also an HSP. Within the last two years I’ve experienced burn out twice. First time I took a temporary leave from my job. This second time was much worse, so I’m forced to stop working. It’s been challenging, but your chats have been encouraging me.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that Laura... burnout is rough... Take good care and I hope you'll feel a bit better as time goes on. Remember, all you need to think about right now is which cup of tea you want to drink next. Sending healing vibes your way 🍵🌱

Hi Vera, great to have you back! ❤ I've actually moved to the Netherlands in 2024 (a month ago, to be precise), so I'm a bit biased and would like to know more about Dutch life 😀 But as other people say - every video of yours is a pleasure and feels like a cozy evening with a friend

Thanks for sharing things you did on your break. The park you visited looks so much fun. I would love a video about preparing for Christmas and what the Dutch do for that season. Another would be an update on your wardrobe. I like the dress. Its style and colour suit you. We love your videos ❤

I like the self-care and mindset videos more because it is difficult for me to be minimalist even though I am against overconsumption... But I appreciate everything on your channel, the tea stuff and all, and moreover, the ones about hypersensitiviy because my husband and daughters are like that and I can understand and help them better... Thank you and keep on being you, you help us relax!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤

I like all your videos including this one. I just discovered you this year for a video on Dutch habits. But love the self care mindful content. 2024 was a challenging year for me as my sister who I live with went through cancer chemotherapy and now knee surgery so caring for her a lot. But I also have done a lot caring for myself this year too. A yearly healthy eating plan where i only eat out twice a week. Lots of walking. Last night I implemented a lot of tips from your slow living 25 tips video and my morning was so great no rushing ❤️. Your content in wonderful.

Hi Vera, glad you had a break to unwind and recharge. I got sick on my last vacation too but still glad I took the time. Initially I came to your channel for the wardrobe tips you shared but I keep watching your videos now because you are my advocate voice for self-care, with your gentle natured way of reminding me that it's ok to acknowledge my vulnerabilities as they arise and take in each moment as a gift for allowing myself to feel joy and serenity in myself and in my life. This really comes through in how you share yourself and I appreciate your projection of self-reflection and compassion. Thank you. 💕

Aw thank you for your kind comment and I love how you phrased that! About acknowledging vulnerabilities and taking in each moment.

I find you soothing, the last 5 months have been difficult with my health, I can no longer work as an rn and I am coming to terms with it. I believe I was burning out as a nurse when I became ill. I love your self care, I am 63yr old and have gone from almost hoarding to a Hse under control. Your decluttering videos are helpful. I love tea also. I enjoy you and have recently joined your other patron group.
