This oddly feels like it would be a canon interaction between the two. Also, I live for moments like this. Yeah, it's fun to see the hero beat the villain in a cool fight, but it's also cool to see the hero and the villain have a heart-to-heart discussion to try and understand each other. It won't end their rivalry, but at least you can see that if things had been a little different, maybe they could've been friends. The ending of The Killing Joke is still one of my favourite Batman/Joker moments.

Fun fact (but spoiler) In one comic, when Barry forgive Thawne, the latter straight up stops existing because he was a paradox linked to Barry’s grudge.
