it will never be 2011 again...

I know this is a little bit different from my usual content, but I've had this idea for a Minecraft/Aether tribute in my head for a while, and wanted to make it reality. I'm still not quite sure I can believe that today is the 12th anniversary of the release of the original Aether. The viral videos which covered that mod (and didn't clearly state that it was a mod) subsequently led to a lot of these things being built and a lot of dejected 12 year olds, myself included.

I remember watching... I think it was PBat and SlyFox doing a playthrough or preview of the Aether mod. Never ended up modding minecraft much myself, I fooled around with Flans' Guns for a second but that was about it.

Fun fact - the mod is currently in beta for a full rewrite/remaster on 1.19.4 (intended to be maintained and updated to the latest version once out of beta) for Forge, with Fabric support planned for the near future!

Aw man, right in the feels. Minecraft is the one game I keep coming back to. After a long break I started playing again during lockdown and even celebrated new year with friends on a server. Minecraft kept me sane that year
