I think we’ll see Plummer in the starting lineup more often moving forward. It’s very clear that we need a terminal outside on the court and as good of a game as cook had she isn’t very effective in attack that often (recently at least)

USA have better squad depth than Italy. That was the difference. There were a couple of moments where Lubian could have easily blocked Plummer if she had moved just a little faster. Italy did well to win that second set, but USA has too many options on and off the bench. Great to see Jordan Larson come back to this team. I thought she retired from playing for the national team already. Forza Italia! The battle has just begun. Winning the next match is VERY important!! 💙

when Mazzanti leaves the best scorer and MVP of the Champioship league and who is also on top of her game, EGONU, what do you expect. Andropova will be a great player but she is still young and inexperience. Mazzanti as a coach should have been able to include EGONU into the line up

He has so many top players to choose from he has to be sure each player is at the top of their game to place them on the final national team for the Olympics. Turkey is the odds to win Olympic gold, but USA will be there as well

Plummer has to improve her floor defense because she is already deadly in offense plus she has the height. I love kelsey but Plummer over Kelsey this time. Larson is very reliable so that other position is locked in for her. The MB position is loaded. Ogbugo is ❤. Washington probably will make it. Oneal, Butler, Retke must slug it out for the remaining spots. Libero, I prefer Justine's steadiness. She may not be as explosive as the other libero but she gel so well with the rest of the team. Carlini's setting needs improvement, I like her though. This is already a solid line up. Let's see how they are going to fare against Serbia, Turkiye, Poland and China.

@@elprofessor3397 nope. I beg to disagree. Larson and Cook have the spots in the bag. Their Tokyo Olympic experience and their leadership skills are the deciding factors. Larson defense is superb. That's what they are missing since Bartsch-Hackley and Larson stopped playing for USA and look at how they are now. Plummer, Franti, Bajema, Lanier and Skinner must slug it out for the next two spots. Knowing Coach Kiraly, he prefers players that are all around and he has a habit of favoritism/familiarity with his system. Larson's leadership and other intangibles are crucial to the team. SO NO LOL. She's a defending Olympic MVP for nothing. The younger players are strong and quick but not as efficient as Larson (for now). And you have to take into consideration Larson stopped playing for the team for many months but she'll get there come Paris Olympics.

I think USA is giving Rettke a lot of court time since she’s the younger one and setting her up on this high level intensity game. Only 14 team roster will be sent to Paris 2024 but haven’t seen a lot of Haley Washington.

As you can see in this match, Carlini didn't play well, She set the ball really difficult for her teammate especially for the Middle Blocker. We need a good and creative setter to against the Top teams such as Turkey.

Non dimentichiamo che per infortuni e scelte tecniche le atlete che sono fuori sono nettamente più forti delle attuali titolari. I titoli si vincono con le campionesse non con gli allenatori. Al momento fuori ci sono Orro, Fahr, De Gennaro, Chirichella, Bosetti ed Egonu. Una squadra, quella delle escluse, che a Parigi lotterebbe sicuramente per una medaglia.

Queste sono scelte che di tecnico non hanno nulla, sono scelte gestionali/personali, cioè tutto il contrario di quello che un allenatore è pagato per fare.

Antropova is not bad but she can’t compare with Egonu, If Egonu in the match, italy will be more powerful and other players will be more confident to play. For a long time to have a moster of carrying team like Egonu, Boskovic and now Turkey has Vargas. But they did not use their biggest star😅😅😅, it’s a joke:)). Even They did not have Bosetti, best libero Monica, Fahr (Lubian is quite bad about blocking). With this lineup who Italy can against😅and now they have to win Poland and Germany, by the way Poland and Germany is not easy to win cuz they really need a victory.

Lasciamo a casa una centrale esperta, anche se indubbiamente non ha giocato una stagione memorabile in campionato, per andare all'Europeo con tre centrali e per portare al pre-olimpico Linda Nwakalor che o indossa la maglia da libero o le fa fare la spettatrice non pagante e il campo non lo vede nemmeno dipinto. A saperlo, gli avrei chiesto di portare, come quarta centrale, mia cugina che non gioca a pallavolo ma desidererebbe tanto assistere a una partita da bordo campo.

Non ha avuto le palle di lasciare a casa anche Egonu ma l'ha umiliata relegandola in panchina. Mi chiedo quale allenatore al mondo lascerebbe Egonu in panchina ? Solo la primadonna alla guida della nazionale. Un tecnico di terza fascia con tanta ma tanta fortuna

@@luigipascolo1180 Egonu non era stata fatta fuori solo perché lui non sapeva quando esattamente Antropova sarebbe stata disponibile e, ovviamente, non poteva poi lasciarla a casa una settimana prima dell'inizio dell'europeo quando ha avuto la sicurezza di poter disporre di Antropova; sarebbe stata una cosa troppo sfacciata e non se l'è sentita, mettendo quindi la classica 'toppa peggiore del buco'. L'avrebbe tagliata alle convocazioni per questo pre olimpico e lei, che è evidentemente abbastanza più scaltra di tantissimi tifosi ottusi, ha capito perfettamente e ha voluto giocare d'anticipo. Ha fatto non bene ma benissimo.

sono solo molto felice di aver visto Villani, Bosio e Fersino giocare bene questa partita. non è la squadra italiana pronta a competizioni di questo livello e devono ancora lavorare molto, ma mancano le veterane in campo…

Fersino è degna successore di Moki..le altre due a me piacciono, ma non so se siano di livello internazionale, o meglio dire, se possano davvero essere determinanti..Bosio certo non ha molto aiuto dalla ricezione...

Direi che questa è la giusta analisi: abbiamo giovani forti, dobbiamo dare a loro l' opportunità di crescere. In campo maschile De Giorgi lo sta facendo molto bene. Anche gli Stati Uniti hanno avuto un periodo difficile, Cuba è scomparsa, altre nazionali stanno crescendo e molto. Quindi la pallavolo femminile non può essere solo Egonu. Dobbiamo fare crescere una squadra e le seconde scelte. Se non avremo risultati per un po', pazienza. Poi in futuro si vedrà. Ma basta polemiche.

@@robertoceccato6507 infatti sarebbe stupendo se non si dipendesse da un solo giocatore..e con i maschi è così che accade, sono un gran gruppo, unito (appunto!). Con le donne, non so, io vedo troppe carenze soprattutto in banda..al punto che vedo più complicato non avere un riferimento cardine forte, chiunque ella sia..senza Vargas non credo proprio che la Turchia, che comunque rispettavo già prima, potrebbe fare la voce così grossa come la fa adesso. Intendo dire che nelle donne , mi pare più determinante il peso della fuoriclasse del caso, lo vedo nelle squadre che contano. Forse oggi come oggi, l'Olanda sta dando buoni risultati come gruppo, ma non sono risultati che dovrebbero portarla oltre il bronzo che ha preso, tra l'atro preso contro il relitto dell'Italia che fu (non so se mi spiego)..mi associo fortemente al tuo pensiero circa la necessità di fare crescere alcune nostre atlete con tanta stoffa, che c'è!
