I love the Italian team but most of my favorites are gone and i don’t even feel excited to watch them play anymore. Congratulations Poland, you’ve had an amazing season. By the world ranking Italy will eventually qualify to Olympic if that so I'm sure that Mazzanti will keep building his new team instead of calling for those players you mentioned. Antropova did very well compare to Egonu back when she first debut she will get better and better but not sure will it be on time cause her problem is even she is tall but her spike is a little bit short for her height.

Women Poland team is a very good team but was risking to lose against Italy team B boy scout level focus, against a good Italian women team there is no way and next time Italy will be another team (5/6 different), but Usa,Brazil,China will be different too... for olympics Brazil/Turkey top team and Usa/Italy/China dark horses.....instead men poland team can win olynpics , are the best

They really did. Congratulations! And congratulations to Lavarini, too. What a great coach! Look what he did to Minas Tênis Clube, taking them to a world championship final, beating Boskovic in the semi-final; look what he did to Korea, taking them to the semi-finals in Tokyo. And look what he has done to Poland, now. The team is absolutely transformed, compared to how they used to play a few years ago; so much more stable, so much more competitive! And he's very humble, too. We miss him in Brazil, but wish him all the sucess he deserves in Paris next year.

Polki zyskały w tym roku bardzo wazną umiejętność. Popełniając dużo błedów są w stanie wygrywać z takimi potęgami jak Amerykanki czy Włoszki. Bardzo to jest cenne, bo świadczy to o dużej pewności siebie i odporności psychicznej. Kilka lat temu nie wytrzymywały końcówek, potrafiły grać na dobrym poziomie, ale przegrywały. Teraz oglądając mecze Pań czekam na długie sety, bo w tym roku Panie prawie wszystkie je wygrywają. Brawo za ten sezon, dziękujemy

@@aleksandrafilipovic758 it was the federation (+ Mazzanti) choice, because Mazzanti after the World Championship couldn’t handle the team anymore, players like Egonu, Moki, Bosetti and Chirichella asked for a change of coach but the federation kept him and decided to cut out the players! It’s time for a change, Mazzanti can’t coach the team anymore

Well done Poland! :) After the first set I was really scared. We played very poorly. Fortunately, Poles fought until the end and won :) A lot of emotions and stress. Girls, you are the best! ;) Magda Stysiak played a fantastic match. Asia Wołosz showed her talent and great experience. She knows the Italian women like the back of her hand. Lavarini changed the mental side of the Polish women incredibly. Just a few years ago, Poles would have given up after the first set. They had no faith in their own abilities, especially since the coach was a man who was bland and unable to mobilize the girls. Finally, the Polish Volleyball Federation hired a world-class professional and the results are there. Let's hope it continues!

That's because she can't hit over blocks, she hits close to the net for as tall as she is. She may be tall but can't jump very high, so she's not much higher than the blockers. They have her figured out.

Antropova is 20 years..... in Italy i see Stijak in Monza and Antropova in Florence..... Antropova is surely stronger(take Volleyworld and see monza/Florence team games and note the difference), in 2 years return to see this message... consider that Wolosz and Bosio are not same level and Poland is a team, Italy is a quite randomic team organized in 1 month.... next time Italy will be 5/6 different player (similar VNL 2022) in the starting list.... another team pratically Orro,De Gennaro,Egonu,Fahr/Lubian, Danesi,Bosetti,Pietrini.... this is the most probable team with possibility to switch Pietrini/Antropova for a different way to see in the field.... this not means Italy will take medal or win Olympics.... but Italian team is not this

Either points was scored through blocks in this match or we are shown almost exclusively blocks in this video. Italy won the first set with blocks and when Poland started to keep up, the balance of power in the game is equalized and in the end Poland even won thanks to her passionate supporters. And one thing I don‘t understand. Namely why the end of a set is not shown to the end when the score is 24 - 24.

I beg to differ. I think the Italians played very well, but Poland was just superior in the key moments. And judging by the way they played today, I'd venture to say they would have won, even against Egonu.

In fact it wasn't very good match for Poland because they were very nervous, especially in the beginning (first set!). But they have the nerves of steel and they won it! In my opinion that team has potential to be the best Polish women's team in history. We'll see in the future.

I feel so happy for Poland and also so sad for Italy. The issue between Egonu, DeGennaro, etc. and the federation or Mazzanti needs to find closure SOON because Italy could have turned this around to win against Poland. All the teams that qualified early brought their key players to the tournament with intent to be part of Paris 2024. Antropova is a great addition to the Italian team and definitely deserves a spot on court, but it was ridiculous that Egonu and DeGennaro are not part of the team in this tournament. The starting 6 for Italy are fairly young and not as experienced, with the exception of Sylla, Danesi, and Bosio. I just feel so bad for some of the younger Italian players like Antropova. She is only 20 years old, has only been playing for the national team for around 3-4 months, and is expected to fill in the role of Egonu who has been a key part of their team for many years. Just imagine all the pressure she has. This is so irresponsible for the federation to treat both of these players in this manner. Italy will most likely qualify because of world ranking, but this issue is something I can never understand. Forza Italia. Stay strong ladies and always hold your head up high 💙

Antropova has no pressure she just came so whatever loss won't be blamed on her unlike Egonu. She has been having issues with racism including problems within federation when she was blamed for the loss and it does not seem there was any improvement in her treatment since then. Every member of her team and all members of federation needed to be on her defense last year when she broke mentally due to the constant racist hatred towards her.

So satisying to see the result of Italy's arrogance and cruelty against Paola Egonu. First, they failed to get a podium finish in european championship, now Olympics. All because they want to show everyone that they can play without Egonu. Paola carried Italy for so many years and the way her teammates and coach treated and discarded her just like that is unacceptable.

Games like this one are very good promotion of volleyball. Italy will join USA and Poland thanks to their world ranking position. The volleyball Olympic tournament has gained significant number of Polish spectators. Many athletes would like to play in gyms full of so many fans as during this game in Lodz.
