I think we are going to see more time travel shinanigans!! I think if kishimoto does have input on what the anime shows then I don’t think it’s too out of the box to think them “showing things in the filler anime to prepare us for what comes later in the anime”. I feel like that’s what they’ve been doing with the Jougan and what they did with the time travel filler with sasuke and Boruto. Expanding on future themes to prepare the fans for epic plot twists and to give some foreshadowing.

Im still riding on the train that Saradas sharingan will evolve through love and/or great positive emotions such as when she (re)awakened her sharingan just as she was about to meet up with Sasuke. For me I don't think it's because sarada and sumire love bouton that they aren't affected by the jutsu. Because remember when momoshiki was explaining eida shinjutsu, he sabi the reason why people fall for eida is as a result of her wanting to be love. And in the chapter where she told sumire and Sarada to be her friends. This was her wanting the both of them to be her friend, so they can't be affected since it's based on her emotions that's why they aren't affected.

Imagine an entirely new generation of Uchiha out for blood. You didn't really think that one out. Itachi didn't "help Akatsuki out." When he had the chance to just pick up the defeated Mizukage after Amaterasu-ing his ass, he just walked away instead - leaving him alive. He intentionally didn't capture Naruto. He wasn't going to murder Kisame, because casually murdering people isn't justifiable and Kisame wasn't a terrible dude, actually. As for "traumatizing your little brother" - the Uchiha are literally cursed. As in literally. The more hatred he could cause Sasuke to experience towards him, the more powerful Sasuke would become. Yes, that was a mistake but one made for with the best of intentions. And no, you're not going to go around telling people you're on their side when you're a double agent whose entire plan is to die with everyone thinking you're a villain on purpose. You have one legitimate point in your entire list of reasons - and that point was already addressed by Itachi to Sasuke. There was nothing new here, except you suggesting that he should have murdered Kisame for no apparently reason and just got paired with another Akatsuki member.

@@TheJinnobi Danzo was by far the worst and the only reason why his faction was so powerful. As for the rest of the Root? Itachi wipes the floor with them. Genjutsu and amaturasu. After all he does in fact just obliterate Danzo’s main man. If Itachi only targets certain people it will still look like it did to everyone including Sasuke before the reveal: That this guy was just a psycho. Everyone already thinks he killed Shisui after all. And he will not have deprived Konoha of its strongest clan completely Itachi did help them. He allowed Kisame to capture the 4 tails, helped recruit Deidara, slowed down Team 7 trying to save Gara, and probably other things as well (in the anime he helped recruit Hidan, and we don’t know which pairs capture some of the tailed beasts). Kisame isn’t as bad as like Hidan, but he’s an awful sadistic human being working towards an evil goal. If Itachi was willing to murder his whole clan he can justifiably kill him. And other members of the organization too. We know that Kakazu and Hidan had issues killing partners so it wouldn’t even be out of place, or he could easily make of look like an accident. Hell he could have gone out in a blaze of glory and taken a good portion of the organization down if he could get a few in one place considering except for Obito and Pain none of them really have answers for his abilities. Yes, there is a curse. But it’s also mostly a self fulfilling prophecy, after all Black Zetsu was the one who wrote it down the way it was specifically to manipulate them. But even then. . . Sasuke’s safety is better guaranteed in other ways than his hairbrained plan which nearly kills Sasuke a lot Being a double agent doesn’t work when he doesn’t actually help, and after Hiruzen died he didn’t even have anyone to pass information to. Do you know who would have been perfect to tell? Kakashi. He had 72 hours in that genjutsu to tell his old Root buddy about literally anything, the man who he would know not only can keep secrets and would understand his position pretty well but also is currently the only one actively trying to keep Sasuke safe. What Itachi really is a poorly done retcon I think, but in universe he’s just a complete idiot actively sabotaging his goals.

The Minato manga/anime would be absolutely fire but I do think a lot about what Itachi's been through. His Akatsuki story with Yagura and the previous owner of Zabuza's sword was very interesting to me. Not sure which I'd like to see more. I think I'm looking forward to seeing how our favorite characters acquired the skills and personalities to make them our favorites. Which we've seen more of Itachi's story than Minato's at this point.

I wonder how exactly the memory changing works. If Boruto and Kawaki's places have been swapped, does that mean everybody thinks Kawaki used the rasengan to kill Momoshiki and Boruto used shadow clones to trick and kill Isshiki or are the places of Momoshiki and Isshiki also swapped to make it make sense? There's actually a fanfiction I read where Boruto and Itachi's consciousnesses ended up being swapped (don't ask me to explain the added time travel element. You'd have to read it to understand.
