Some people do think stuff like this can happen. I mean there were people calling some 3 hours ahead, to the police, that they felt it was unsafe and something was going to happen. Though this doesn't happen a lot, it has happened numerous times around the world where people get crushed from too many people. I certainly would have been wary of it happening. I've been to concerts before where it was so tightly packed that many of us weren't even touching the ground, just laying on each other. I nearly suffocated. When some room was made, I asked a big guy next to me if he could help me crowd surf out - that I couldn't breathe and he did. It's always a threat where large groups of people gather.

Contrary to popular belief and rumors spread online the crowd surge was not related in any way to the presence of a celebrity. It was caused by poor to non existent crowd management coupled with a path system that was simply not designed to handle the volume of pedestrian foot traffic that such an event generated.

People following each other, little talking/ sharing info of what was ahead or behind them. Like, what is going down that street? Nothing really. Ok, let's avoid this crowd. Nothing is going on. Too many people. What if someone started shooting? A person loses ability to choose direction and is at mercy of other people and decision of crowd. What if a possible other event cause people to run? Very scary, crowds I avoid and I am never in them.

I’m nearing the end of this video and for the life of me, I can’t figure out what is the fun in being in the middle of this slow moving human mass? Some people who got caught in this nightmare were people trying to get home in this location. What a horrible experience?! May their souls rest in peace. It’s not a stampede by the way, it’s called a crowd crush, people literally got stuck in a bottle neck of that ally way, and got crushed to death because they couldn’t get out.

People wouldn’t have been able to see their own feet at that point, less much anyone on the floor. Rotten Mango covered this incident in depth on their channel. People were chest to chest and shoulder to shoulder, some people’s feet were literally not touching the ground because of how compact the crowd was. This isn’t an incident that can be blamed on any specific person in the crowd… it is the fault of the police and government’s lack of planning and lack of safety protocol.
@zzzmisun Жыл бұрын
@shaunasugar The incident is the human error at the scene. It's the same as any accident.... like a car accident = human error. It's the people who caused the incident to blame. Can't always blame the police for human error! Can't blame police who were not there for a murder's action for killing! Can't blame police for a drunk driver killing a pedestrian! Can't blame police for a parent abusing their own child! Cant blame police for a burglar killing a homeowner! Can't blame police for people congregating at the same time, causing problems killing others!

Sad. In the culture of my country, death is treated with respect, because there is a belief that it has no sense of humor and hates when someone provokes it by mocking it. This American holiday is incomprehensible to me, terrible that it`s propagated among children. Even fun has its consequences. It's easy to say now what is alarming on this video and tell what can be done better to prevent such situations from happening in future... However, I`m simply worried about one thing... young people with so many years and opportunities ahead of them... and they all fly like a moth to the light. If it's so tight, don't push forward, wait until it's easier to move, step back... where are you in such a hurry? You have learned a very hard lesson from life, be more careful
