For a car sat outside for the last 5 year's I was expecting a horror show underneath , the fact it's 99 % solid is amazing for 90's Italian metal. Due to that , and engine starting on the key , this car should be saved and put back to it's former glory.....Good vid !

I’ve owned mine since 1997. It only been doing about 150 miles a year between MOTs for the last 10 years. Always serviced, taxed and insured for occasional use. I had a drive today and honestly it drove like the day I brought it. 1990s turbo cars are a unique experience when on boost !! One day these might be appreciated.

Fiat Coupe L.E., bought in 2003. It remained totally unused from 2010 since 2020, luckily in my garage. Exterior and interior needed almost nothing. Still, the (conservative) restoration of meccanical parts, turned out to be a small nightmare for my meccanic. But....the result is what matters. And after nearly four moths of work, in March 2021 my beauty was on the road again! Now , I carefully use it once every 15 days, always away from urban streets....and always alone! By the way, great video. I' m waiting for the next part!

@@ItaliaAutos Ha. Yeah, rust repairs have a habit of getting out of hand quickly... Super glad there is no such thing as salt on the roads down here in Australia! But I saw one of these the other day here in Hobart in Tasmania!! Couldn't believe my eyes - managed a quick chat with the owner, turns out 30 have been brought to Oz. Super cool.

Great video - thanks Neil. I would be worried about the state of the steel underneath the sunroof seal. They are virtually imposible to repair if rotten. I used to have a 20VT in that colour and currently have a broom yellow Turbo Plus. My favourite affordable Italian of all time.

Really looking forward to this one. I remember when they came out, I was blown anyway by the design. Carsupermarket (as it was called back in the mid 90s) Cannock had one in the show room. A mate and myself went just so we could sit in it and drool! 😂 I was driving a 1.4 Escort at the time, so this was another world.

Definitely a worth saving if car has just those rusts. Lots of regular service to be done but isnt that obvious, no matter if it has been or not driven. Cleaning is also necessity and by that you see a major improvement in a small time 👍

Most defiantly not a good idea starting the engine like that after so long sitting,,,,,,The piston skirts ,,bores,,All the bearings and the top end are bone dry,,So there will be defiantly some damage done there,,,,Best practice would have been ,,All spark plugs out,,A liberal spray of engine and or auto trans fluid into bores,,connect battery,,spin engine over for about 15 seconds,To build up oil pressure,,And introduce oil to the engine components,,Then replace spark plugs and start engine,,,,But that's just me..

@simonanstey55468 ай бұрын
@@ItaliaAutos I bother because I am interested in cars and mechanics. I like to see things done properly. I own a 20VT and have had several Alfas. Your snide reply doesn't do you justice and I am just pleased that this isn't my vehicle that you are recommissioning. It pained me to think of those pistons sliding up and down unlubricated bores having been sat in one position for several years with potentially no oil in the sump and a cam belt about to snap. Finally, if you can't cope with the comments, don't post the videos
