Y’all are so young!! 🥰 I work for an international school and some language schools can assist with getting an F1 visa. Immigration has requirements that you must uphold (grades, attendance, etc), and your person can’t really work with it so they would pretty much be a dependent of some kind, or they would need to show they’ve saved enough money. You can also get scholarships so it wouldn’t hurt looking into that (I think it depends on school and country of origin). The other way is getting naturalized through marriage. That can take years (like 2-3 ish) but they will be able to work with it and naturalize their immediate family if they show enough income being generated. He did mention the work visa but thats limited to certain positions, and are usually through big corporations, and that are hard to fill in America. I have a friend that worked for Ikea, for example. He was a top interior designer that did something super specific with the showrooms, and he had been with the company for years prior to coming to the states. I would recommend getting a lawyer and having a small chat if you want to know more info on it. Its worth your money for this. The country of origin is heavily weighted.

Omg this resonates with my situation so much. In a long distance relationship and it's very hard! I live in US and he lives in Europe but is half Irish/Latin and speaks spanglish/British. We have a little language barrier. His mom lives in Northern Ireland where he wants to take me. We have been communicating over video, text, phone calls and a few emails. Haven't met in person yet. There's seemingly so many obstacles with Covid interrupting and job issues, etc.

I'm from Friuli, but I also have part of the family from Sicily. It's a bit messy during holydays but, you know. Family is family. From north to south. And when it comes to eat, we all are equals. Unfortunately my grandfathers and grandmothers are all passed out. Except for my sicilian grandmother from my mother side. She have alzheimer and due to pandemic she's lock down. We can't meet her, so we were forced to celebrate without her. Not like it was a proper celebration, my father got covid and is still sick. But with two shoots of vaccine, we are all safe. And we can still celebrate and eat togheter. I wish you a merry christmas (even if late) and a happy new year will a lot of satisfactions. ;)
