I'm italian and i love this project. I don't mean to bother (actually i want to help), but this song isn't sung by an italian native speaker (as also "l'italiano") and it sounds quite strange to me😅. Btw, probably you ready know that since u are the one who posts these songs, but i just wanted to let you know that in case u would like to change these versions with even more "accurate" ones. If you are of Italian origin or descent, you know or have heard of this traditional piece titled “Bella Ciao”* (1890). Over one century old, this folk song first appeared among rice-paddy workers of Po Valley, Northern Italy. Rice farming being hard labor and very low payed, such labor conditions inevitably lead to dissent : riots, uprising, etc. By 1943, the lyrics had changed to reflect resistance against Benito Mussolini’s Fascist regime and their Nazi allies. Since then, “Bella Ciao” morphed into a tune of general protest, not only in Italy but throughout Europe. Original lyrics : “Upon just arising in the morning O beautiful, hello beautiful … I have to go to the paddy field … Oh, partisan, take me along … Because I feel ready to die” 1940s lyrical version : “One morning I got up … And I found the invader Oh, partisan, take me along … Because I feel ready to die” In 2018, Marc Ribot reworked the anthem for “Songs of Resistance 1942-2018.” For this album, Ribot collaborated with notable musicians such as Tom Waits, who provided vocals for “Bella Ciao.” Tom Waits and Marc Ribot’s version : “One fine morning I woke up early … Find the fascist at my door … I’m not afraid anymore … This is the flower of the partisan Bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao This is the flower of the partisan Who died for freedom” How many courageous men and women lived and died chanting “Bella Ciao,” we will never know. But they do deserve to be remembered IN THE NAME OF “HUMAN-KINDNESS”❕ ❤️🇮🇹💚 * “Bella Ciao” means “Goodbye Beautiful.”

The song is about someone who wakes up to see that his government have become fascist and have let the Nazis in. So they say goodbye to their loved one and go off to join the partisans and live in the mountains. They request to be buried in the mountains when they die. They end up getting killed and their request is granted and they get buried in the mountains, where a flower grows out of their grave. The song ends with someone seeing the flower and saying that it's beautiful and then asks "what is this flower", and the reply is "this is the flower of the partisans".
