Those bins are a very interesting design. Is the metal bar on the front of the bottom a foot step to open the lid or is it for something else? Those little swinging hooks that keep the bin from falling in are very clever! I've never seen anything like that here in the states. Great job showing all the mechanisms!

trashmonster26 the metal bar in the front is indeed to open the lit by your feet. And the system is mostly used in Italy.

@@thevuilniswagen They had a similar system in Soest/NL where I live, mostly used in the 70's and 80's. Later, when other contractors arrived in town, 2 other now more common liftsystems became wider used here too. Don't ask me the names, as I am not an expert. But what I always find interesting, is that Dutch garbagetrucks nowadays are able to empty all types of dumpsters with the most common liftsystems available on the market. That's why, I find the Dutch waste industry more modern than the US waste industry.
