I watch from Indiana but I'm from NJ. Gina brings back a lot of memories for me from my childhood, I learned from my mother and grandfather, they use to cook for the Sunday dinner's , if your not from an Italian family you wouldn't know the joy of the real Italian dinners. We had anywhere from 10 to 12 course dinners, it took 2 days to ,.prepair the food, and my Poppy was very adamant that you attended Sunday dinner, to the point that if you did not show up on Sunday you where removed from the Will on Monday morning, this is the truth so help me God! I enjoy her videos when she sings, because my Poppy use to sing some of the same songs.... I miss the old days, but now with Gina, I can remember the good old days of my youth.. Thank you Gina, and your Son in law for the video's , God Bless You All.

You brought back so many memories of 55-60 years ago, when I was a little girl, and I would sit and watch my Nonna Immacolata make the cavatelli !!! And I would get so excited when she would let me put my little hands in the well, to bring the eggs and flour together! I used to run away though, when it was time to shape the thousands of cavatelli ! I hated that job. Today we got the extra treat of you singing, and also of speaking a little Italian! Per piacere, please make one video where you speak completely in Italian!! And it never fails, never do you make a video where I don't cry-------but they are always happy tears of happy memories! I was so fortunate to have been able to spend so much time with not only all my grandparents but some of my great grandparents as well. I was so close to them all and learned so much from them. I can pick out parts of my personality that each of them shaped. Listening to and learning from them was no doubt among my best decisions in life. Seems like when i was young many young people dont see the value in learning from our older friends and relatives. Now as an adult it seems that kids are even less interested in things like this. Im very grateful this family for sharing all of this with us on KZbin. I think its so great that her family takes the time to produce these videos. This information is priceless.

Gina, thank you so much, I’m 67 and you bring back such wonderful memories of my own sweet Italian grandma! My father’s family immigrated from Sicily in the early 1900’s. He was one of 9 children growing up during the depression. Sunday’s and holidays were always spent at grandma’s , boy what a madhouse with all those cousins. She had such patience with us. I’m definitely going to try this recipe. I had been searching for a cavatelli recipe to try out my cavatelli machine I found at the second hand store and what a surprise when I found your recipe. Thanks again, your family is truly blessed to have you. God bless!

My favorite! I used to ask my grandma for theese all the time. Grandma called them gavadeels too! The kids said cavadils. We all sat around the big wooden cutting board just Like yours and the kids were given a fork to roll them off and it was a race to see who could sweep the biggest batch to the middle. Love your videos!!!

As a child, I ate pasta every Sunday made by an Italian family. My mother married an Italian & more pasta on Sunday. Pasta is my favorite food. I love Italian people & music. My favorite singers are IlVolo. Love them. I hope to get to Italy before my time is gone! Love these videos too.

Nonna Gina you just made me so happy! When I was a little girl, my Nonna, and my mother and also my father all made Cavatelli together...Seeing you make this video, just made me think of my parents and my Nonna..When I was very young, around 6 years old, my Nonna made me help her make Cavatelli together..She showed me how just the way you did it...And then she helped me put the Cavatelli I made into the pot of hot water to cook, and then add Nonna's homemade delish tomato sauce, and we eat! ..I love watching you cook, and bake!.. You make me feel like I have my mother back with me again..God Bless you Nonna Gina!

You are making me cry...I grew up like this. My mother, my grandmother, making everything from scratch - and the baking board with the rolling pin! Weeping because I miss my family today.

Hi Nonna Gina. When my mother made manicotti she used manicotti shells. She didn’t make crepes. Both of my Nonnas were from Lucca, Toscana. God bless you and stay safe. From Gloria in Pittsburgh, PA.

I can’t thank you enough for sharing these priceless videos. I tell people that she makes my soul smile. There’s a love contained within her that is a treasure. The recipes are the kind that grandmothers never write down. Watching her is a life lesson, and makes me feel like I’m spending time with my own grandmother who passed away a few years ago. I miss her dearly, but the love shown here is so similar! I tear up sometimes because it’s so comforting. These are the kinds of lessons that I hope to share with my children and their children some day. Thank you and your family so much for sharing her videos. She’s a true blessing! 🙏🏻
