My nonno used to play this for me as a child he passed away last year and I played this video for him before he had passed

yes, I understand, it is a gift...I hope someone will carry that on for him...it is so important, younger generations would miss out on so much without the wonderful special occasion food when family comes together for celebrations/holidays...my Mama baked like that, and it always came out sooo wonderful! before I moved to the USA 10 yrs ago, I always lived in an Italian neighbourhood, I was so lucky...the food, music and culture has added so much enjoyment to my life...I miss that so much

I love this! I am not Italian (wish I was) but I grew up in a mostly Italian neighbourhood in the North End of Hamilton, then later in Stoney Creek...I can't tell you how much the Italian culture, food, music, etc, has added to my life...I want to learn how to make cheese like your Nonno did in the other video...he is an artist and that kind of talent should be preserved and carried on...thank you for sharing...grazi!

Copat87 Do you know how to play the harmonica? Nonno was your dad, is that right.

No I don't know how to play. I wish I did! He was my grandfather :)

Copat87 Oh, I thought he was your dad but you called him Nonno for your kids sake. Gee, I really mixed that up. Haha. I would have a 3D frame made holding his picture and the harmonica. When my Nonna passed away I framed her photo and a small plate of her homemade cavatelli glued to a dish, she was known for making pounds and pounds of cavatelli for the family. My cousin had her cavatelli in her freezer for over 12 years and then when the Jersey Shore got hit with Hurricane Sandy they were destroyed. Now I have assumed the role of cavatelli maker for the family. Haha

@sistyuglykmart - Grazie mille! I'm glad you liked the video. What a coincidence! I'm from Mississauga and I definitely know of the Italian community in Hamilton/Stoney Creek :) as you probably know there is also a big Italian community in Etobicoke/Toronto (that's where my Nonno lives now and where this video was shot) A lot of people want to learn how to make the cheese but it's complicated because he doesn't use measurements and any specific ingredients... he has that special touch you know?

@DirtyMrDago We have family from Roseto in the US too but most are here in Toronto and the GTA. These traditions are slowly disappearing it's true... always try to keep them going!

by the way, he was using goats milk? I do have a few goats so I have fresh goat's milk every day...funny, a city girl now living on a farm with goats and chickens...it is such fun...I do have a full time job though...I am going to try right now to make some mozerella...I found other videos showing how to make it, so I hope they are right in their directions or that I do it right...if it turns out good, I am going to next try to make some Feta cheese...does your Nonno make other cheeses too?
