My family visited Nardo from London a few years ago, for the 1st time in Pulgia. Nardo was recommended by one of my Italian friends from Lombardy. Nardo I can say without hesitation is the best town and I have ever visited in Italy, and I have travelled Italy extensively including Sicily from the South to the Dolomites! We would go to Cafe Parisi each morning and try something different before setting off, and that restaurant was right near our AirBnb, we ate here 3 times (yummy!), there are other restaurants just as good in Nardo with different varieties of dishes, you could say the gastronomic centre of Puglia?? In summer the place is absolutely heaving in the evening, with buzzy, packed streets, open concerts, and markets, but not crazy like other European towns packed with tourists, most are Italian in Nardo and from all over Italy! We travelled around extensively on our 3-week holiday and used Nardo as a base, the beaches are amazing in Salento and visited other historic towns. We would come back to Nardo most evenings and have dinner, speaking to locals, people out of town and tourists like us, a very friendly atmosphere. Likewise, we had a terrace as well much like the 2nd property, after dinner/drinks, late at night we would open a bottle of local wine, and stare into the stars of the crystal clear Puglian skies! Thanks for the video, these properties are so cheap compared to other places around Europe and have so much history............ Nardo has beautiful baroque architecture.........very nice presented video thanks!

Marco you have outdone yourself in this episode. We absolutely love Nardo (we are heading there again in 2024) and also visited Cafe Parisi and loved it. Thanks for sharing the restaurant recommendation as well. We will be booking into it. The properties were stunning and our favourite was the second architecturally designed property with barrel vaults and cool interiors. So well planned.

wonderful video!! The 2nd apartment is quite "different", and the landmark-protected exterior walls provide quite a challenge when creating new living spaces within - the windows seem so haphazardly placed. I love the tall ceilings, and all those steps will keep everyone's thighs supple!!! Lots of potential here - I hope the tourism and residential money keeps flowing in, and the city will be very well rejuvenated in a few years' time.

The symbol your concerned about has dots on each of its quarters. It's a Asian symbol used by Indian religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. It is used as a representation of divinity and spirituality. The appropriation of the swastika by the Nazi Party and neo Nazis has corrupted this meaning.
@Swift_Kick_in_the Жыл бұрын
@@jannetho3342 the last part you said is my point. One evil person ruined using that symbol, especially in Italy, which was an ally of the Nazi Party and that symbol was actually introduced to the Nazi's by an Italian.

I put on weight every time I watch you eat. 😂😊😂😊 I know this is on the coast, but it is southern Italy after all, so the prices seem a bit disproportionate for the region. Sorry if this question is deemed inappropriate, but perhaps you could offer an opinion. My husband and I are an older gay couple, looking to retire from the U.S. and relocate, at least for part of the year, to Italy. Do you think we would encounter any problems living in Puglia? It’s not like we’re drag queens or anything, but we have encountered some issues on previous trips, mostly in Naples and Sorrento. Any thoughts? Thanks. We love your channel.
@MK-tk8tb Жыл бұрын
Good question. I am not an expert on much in life and I am not gay. I have been going in and out of Italy for 40 years and have meet gay couples who seem to do just fine. In general I have found Italians to be pretty open friendly loving people. The biggest mistake I have seen by American moving to Italy is simply not doing their homework and visiting a few times so they have realistic expectations. Videos are lovely but sometime portray Italy with an unrealistic romantic lens. Hope you go, eat well and make friends. Buon anno.
