@@woodfur00 Yep... I live in America so that's what I thought immediately. But a mother from Italy would definitely think of Celsius first. That's why weather reports always specify the scale they're using. 38 °C is around 93 °F, I think.

I'm Danish, but this reminds me of my grandmother. "I'm glad to hear you are not a lesbian, because then you can find a man, and maybe have a child one day." She recently got hip surgery and she was on some meds and we had one of these conversation and in her med induced haze she asked me how big my boobs were, because, men like boobs.

Ok for all the people saying it sounds nothing like an Italian American accent and more Hispanic... at no point does she say the mother is Italian-American. Just Italian. The daughter could be italian american but perhaps the mother is just Italian, perhaps an immigrant with a softened accent. But you know where the Hispanic accent comes from? The Spanish.
