I have a question for the MP enjoyers here Why are some mechanics outright banned instead of nerfed I get things like sub 3s but why is human torpedoes generally frowed upon?

Because it's too asymmetrical: Italy just needs to press a decision to potentially do a lot of damage to the Allied Med navy with minimal costs, and the Allies have to do a lot of annoying navy micro for where they dock their ships to not lose the Med navy until the Italians press their button (and they don't get a clear notice when Italy has pressed their button). Which means Italy gets a "free" permanent distraction against the Allies if they are allowed to press the button, but never actually press it.
