Why is " How do you say" translated as Come si "dice", instead of dici", since dici is the singular You form?

I speak Spanish pretty well & studied Latin 4 yrs. I immediately saw ‘venire’ & thought, oh wow, this must be translated “To Come”. But you say it’s translated to go? When we read, ‘Veni, Vidi, Vici’ from what root (stem) does the VENI come from i wonder?

You're correct that venire means "to come". I'm not sure why I said it means "to go" -- but it is a mistake. Thanks for pointing that out to me. As far as your question about where the Latin root "veni" comes from, there seems to be an interesting etymological story: www.etymonline.com/word/*gwa-

I’ve been viewing quite a few Italian online self-learning videos.There’s no doubt in my experience, yours are the most well organized, have the best descriptions, especially with irregular verbs & for an English speaking person, your pronunciation is the most clear.
