I'm from Sweden i saw a blue dot on Sweden in the map and had to react. Actually it's 100% correct, That city still today exists its called Askersund after the Turkish Muslim Soldiers who guarded and protected the Swedish King and brought him back to his people and country after many years in exile in Turkey after he escaped his own country. The Khalif of that time gave him and his soldiers protection, money, food and own palace, it's crazy. The King loved it so much that he never wanted to go back. After many years the Khalif finally managed to convince the King to go back to his people and take back his country. The Khalif gave him ships, money, weapons and his own soldiers and thax to that we today have our lovely country called Sweden 😍👊💯😎 Unfortunately we are not though this in the Swedish school it a hidden history, because we are thought to hate Turkey and Islam, but if you digg deep enough you will find it. To be honest I learnt your regional history around my 30's and amazed because there were significant similarities. The historic Vikings and pro-Turkic people has many thing almost same. Even few letters and words are the same. It is hilarious to see two different culture from thousands of kilometers might have same ethics and culture. As a Turkish history teacher I guess I can answer your question about how much we learn/ teach in school about Turkish History. First of all I have to say, Turkish history is a really big thing. Its impossible to teach all of it even in umiversity, history department. So of course we cant teach the all but we teach the basics about every Turkish government/ state like Göktürk's, Hun's etc. We separate them as "the Turkish history before İslam" , The muslim-Turks" , " Selçuklu", " Ottoman Empire" and lastly "the history of Türkiye" usually there is only one of them in one year and we also teach " general history of world" like the world war, the hundred years wars...

High school is 4 year at turkey. 1st year we learn about gokturk and other asian turk countries. 2nd year we learn about turk countries at anatolia before ottoman. 3rd year we learn about ottoman from 1299 to 1800~. the last year of high school (4th year) we learn from 1800 to 2000.
