Love the look of surprise when you saw that Mitch Grassi, a countertenor, was singing the female part. Scott Hoying ( the man singing Andrea Bocelli's part) does not actually speak Italian. He used a tutor to help him get the pronunciation correct. Also, it's recommended that people use earbuds or headphones when listening to acapella groups. You miss much of the detail and backing vocals without them.

Nice reaction. One small note... listening to Pentatonix without headphones is a sin! Headphones will allow you to hear the intricacies of the arrangements, which is critical to their success. Do not worry, you will still be a beautiful couple even if you wear headphones. 😉

Poor Scott. Everyone in Pentatonix (including Scott) says that he's the one most likely to forget the lyrics, so of COURSE he's the one with the best voice for Andrea Bocelli's part in this. Scott doesn't speak Italian; he had to learn this by rote, and he worked hard to get the pronunciation right. Isn't that a marvelous set? You feel that they're actually in a forest with fresh snow on the ground.

A couple to start with would be "Daft Punk Medley" and "Bohemian Rhapsody"...after that they have so many to choose from !! BTW, they have over 20 MILLION(!) subscribers as well as 7+ BILLION views of their videos...platinum albums dozens and dozens concerts; 3 Grammys and 4 sold-pit world tours !! Just so you know... there is only one woman vocalist in the group, Kristie (she is the one with the curly blond hair in the middle part of the song) the first female part is sung by Mitch (a tenor). His voice is certainly amazing, angelic. Lovely to see your reaction.

But we really want to know if Scott pronounced his Italian lyrics well! Pentatonix has performed in English (their native language), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, French, and Italian. Apart from some of the members speaking some Spanish I think all of those languages are completely new to them. Oh, I forgot to mention Kevin the beatboxer speaks fluent Mandarin. But no songs in Chinese yet...

Scott has a very good italian pronounce, there Is a little bit of accent in a few words on the vowel letters but Is normal because italian accent has not a standard rule for pronuncing a word, expecially on vowals. For example we write "capitano" but we can pronunce this word "càpitano" or "capitàno", by placing the accent on one of the a's, the pronunciations are both correct but the meaning of the word is completely different as happens in other languages. Scott's italian in the song Is very close to be perfect. I Hope that i make me understand, sorry for my bad english. :)

Oh mamma, ma sono l'unica italiana che vi segue? Il ragazzo che canta per primo (quello che fa la parte di Celine) si chiama Mitch Grassi, è italiano da parte di padre (mi pare che i bisnonni siano emigrati). Io non me ne intendo, ma viene definito un controtenore proprio per le note acutissime che riesce a raggiungere. Ma oltre all'estensione io trovo nella sua voce una dolcezza, una sensibilità e un pathos che in pochi hanno. Eh sì, Mitch è il mio preferito, assieme alla ragazza, Kirstin sempre Co un'intonazione perfetta. Gli altri sono (assolutamente NON meno bravi) Scott Hoying (il ragazzo che canta la parte di Bocelli), Kevin, beatboxre e all'occorrenza tenore e violoncellista e Matt il ragazzo col timbro da basso. Se avete intenzione di continuare a reagire a questo gruppo, avrete un'enorme soddisfazione da parte dei molti che li seguono. Ah un'ultima cosa...dal vivo in molti casi sono meglio delle versioni registrate in studio. Auguri!!
