Nice reaction ladies. Diana is a Russian girl singing a song in French. I have heard that she has sang songs in German, French, English, Spanish and Arabic. As well as her native Russian of course. In order to understand her singing abilities you should do the song “Yodel time” which was done on the children’s version of The Voice. She sang extremely well but not one judge pushed their button. They were corrupt, the audience gave her a standing ovation for five minutes after the judges questions her and sing a short verse in French of another song. Then you must do “Human” which she sings even lower tone. Welcome to Diana’s world, you have a whole library full of songs now to listen and react to and everyone you will enjoy. But I'll try to help you find out more and still give us a lot of nice reactions. ;-) Your astonishment is not exceptional! Diana uses many vocal techniques rarely used in pop music (like overtones, yodel, and some from classical singing....). The one that seems to amaze people the most is polyphonic voice. The root notes are enriched with powerful harmonics which can give the impression that there are several overlapping voices or an artificial effect which gives this result. This technique is used in Slavic folk music, like Bulgarian vocal groups or artists like Pelageya, the Russian folk diva. I cannot tell you exactly how these artists achieve this result, I was just told that it is linked to the simultaneous use of the different resonators of the human body and that such a mastery of the voice and of the breath with such a fluidity requires years of work, Diana has been singing on stage and has been taking singing and performing arts lessons since the age of 6! This broadcast is "You're Great!" ("You are Super"), a song contest reserved for children who have had a difficult start in life. This is the case of Diana who was mistreated and ended up in an orphanage at 3 years old. In this shows Diana is directing, arranging and preparing her performances herself. She's a real creator. In addition, her costumes are designed and sewn by her mother and grandmother since she was 5. Diana was indeed 14 years old here. This is an amazing song but Rechenka is probably her most incredible and dynamic song...but if you want something to sample that is new I'd suggest you explore her newest original song, "Happiness". It's a deep, emotionally complex song with masterful lyrics. It was released March 26th and is the first song published from her new upcoming album to be released later this Month (probably around her 18th birthday at the end of this Month). Diana doesn't block content like the Russian TV show does so you won't have to contend with that plus she provides good working subtitles for her music on her official site. She's an amazing talent.
