its 100% worth it to keep Hag Graef. its incredibly easy to hold onto and becomes a massive money maker, you make that 20k back from just that one settlement quite quickly.

What happens if Malus tries to confederate with Malekith?
@Rukdug5 жыл бұрын
Is there any actual downside to keeping Hag Graef? Why should I give up a relatively easy to pacify three region province to help finance my expedition, especially with Malekith acting as my shield from basically any hostile faction in Naggaroth? From what I've seen, all you really miss out on is an extra 20k gold, which Hag Graef can make for you in 40 turns or less because of it's starting special mines and it's starting port. And a growth bonus for 5 turns feels like it's completely overshadowed by the public order bonus for 10 turns if you keep Hag Graef, especially since you'll only have that growth bonus benefiting one region for the full duration, two regions for a part of the duration, and maybe it will apply for 1 turn to three regions. Will Malekith eventually turn on you if you keep Hag Graef? I just feel like giving it up is shooting yourself in the foot as it currently stands.
@colossusslayer12345 жыл бұрын
I kindof agree with you. I see no possible scenario where the deal is worth taking, unless you REALLY don't feel like managing an area across the world. 20k is nice but it just doesn't seem worth it.

From my experience - it is not worth it because Malekith will keep dragging you into wars. Hag is insanely spread out province so actually holding on to it will be extremely annoying. Due to the elixir, you won't really have enough gold to keep an army there while needing to invest into defences heavily. OFC everything is doable, but keeping it is a headache and therefore not worth it.

Is loot and occupy not the way to go for slaves? Can someone tell me the difference between occupy, loot and occupy and sack first then occupy?
@boojaliciousiii37975 жыл бұрын
What you decide to do will affect public order in that region. Occupy is -10 loot and occupy will get you money (in the DE case slaves as well) with a -30 to public order (don't quote me on that number) whereas sacking it will get you the most money and slaves. I believe sacking then occupying will stack the public order penalties so you would end up with -30 from sacking or looting and another -10 from occupation.
@briggsy42615 жыл бұрын
Boojalicious III gotcha... so if I get this right. I can sack and occupy for huge public order penalty gaining most money and slaves then when rebellion happens I can smash them for more money and slaves? Granted I won’t expand as fast but this will get me the most money right? (Struggle for money in every single campaign I play)
@boojaliciousiii37975 жыл бұрын
@@briggsy4261 it will vary slightly between some factions. Some can only choose between occupying, sacking, and razing. In the case of DE (pause at 1:53 and you will see the values), sacking is different from loot and occupy as sacking will get you the most slaves and money without capturing the settlement. I believe you can still move your army back to the settlement and occupy after it's sacked and that's where the public order tanks. But if you're comfortable enough in dealing with the public order, then sacking is the way to go.

I see the issue here my brother!! So I said, "do this," using the mouse pointer to illustrate what 'this' was. So it's definitely on me for not explicitly saying NOT to KEEP Hag Graef. I quickly threw out that we're taking the money then said, "don't do this," and circle the KEEPING of Hag Graef, so 100% a syntax error on my part. Sorry about that my dude. I do have a habit of using the mouse cursor to illustrate my points sometimes so I'll try to reign that in a bit next time around!
