Shohei's year was incredible and definitely deserved a top 10. Hitting 50 HRs is a big deal, as only 32/20,459 players have done so, let alone 50/50. (Mike Trout never hit 50 home runs btw).

Honestly, not including the postseason, the only iconic moment/ game of the year was the 6for6 Ohtani game against Miami. This dude is very much a ONCE IN A LIFETIME athlete who has abilities we've never seen before. It is just crazy to have actual baseball fans who dog that dude and shrug off his accomplishments as if they are things that have been done year after year. He is amazing and that game in Miami has to be considered as one of baseballs best hitting performances EVER

As a Dodgers fan since the '90s this season was amazing, you could make a top ten or twenty of just Dodgers moments this season I swear. My favorites that weren't already on the list- Freddie Freeman breaking the record for home runs in consecutive WS games, going back-to-back-to-back against the Diamondbacks towards the end of the season, shutting the Padres out through 24 consecutive innings during the NLDS, the first bullpen game versus the Padres in the NLDS that showed everyone the Dodgers could and would make a World Series run with a depleted pitching staff, the humble Tommy Edman hitting home runs off both sides of the plate in one game and gaining the acceptance of Dodger fans as the ultimate ultility man after coming in right at the trade deadline, Kiké Hernandez and Gavin Lux's iconic cup-bumping celebration, Max Muncy breaking the record for getting on base in consecutive playoff plate appearances during the NLCS, and Teoscar Hernandez winning the HR derby. Honorable mentions include Decoy's first pitch, Ippei recanting his ESPN interview and taking the charges for our boy like a G, Will Smith's check swing double, and the Dodger fan having a Dodger fan moment and blowing his hand up during the NLCS. DODGERS FOR LIFE!

Great take. You're humble about it being your opinion but we subscribe to hear it so no worries. I appreciate your mention of the A's game. I'm an Angel fan so I have empathy for horrible ownership. I've been to the BART station closest to the Coliseum many, many times to travel from the airport or see a game. The faithful fans, among the best in MLB, going to a game in mass for safety in one the most dangerous areas for any MLB stadium (Philly is right up there as I stayed with the large crowd also arriving on public transportation) and showing loyalty. My heart went out to those fans for having and "anti-boycott" game and then the final. An end to an era of horrible ownerships but faithful fans. Great call out.
