@@paulsayers580 the power, the fact that it's close to a knuckleball, and that it's an unexpected placement I think make it a pretty impressive hit. Generally players would smash it across goal there, Bellingham slices into it in a way that's a lot harder to pull off, but if it works is gonna catch the keeper out. Ended up a bit too close so keeper got a hand to it but if it had been a touch to the right he'd have had no chance.

I've noticed a pattern with the media's coverage of England's performances. Whenever they beat a side like Italy, France or Brazil, it's always like: "Ohhhhhh but this is a weak Italian, French or whatever team. They are in a period of transition". In the 90s, 00s and 10s, England NEVER beat teams like this. I can guarantee (!!!) that the next time England beat one of the top nations, it will be exactly the same narrative.

And people are talking about Grealish how he missed that chance but not everytime you try to score you will have success,I've seen him playing for city and he is the best at assisting but they don't usually assist for him but he tried even if he didn't score he gave his contribute for the team. As a person who is proud of his Italian heritage, I have to say that Italy's international performance for the last 10 years, has been/is an embarrassing reflection of the theatre this sport has become at home. It's 2023 and they STILL don't understand that a mistake - which can happen to any team - in front of your keeper has the potential for the opposition to score, while a mistake at the opposite end of the pitch means you have the length of the pitch to recover. This common-sense understanding seems to have eluded Italy's "defensive-minded" strategy. Beyond that, Serie A has gleaned profits from unsuspecting fans while eliciting a ridiculous number of imports. There could be unbelievable young talent lurking in the minors but they won't get discovered while imports dominate the greedy owner's teams. Finally, the officiating that aides, abets and nurtures the theatre that Italian football has devolved into, are all part of the plan. How has this worked in the last 2 world cup qualifiers?!? Let's add the Euro qualifiers to the list! There is too much money involved for Italian football to ever become world class again.
