I have been travelling for 40 years and watching KZbin travel videos for many years. This video is by far the best I've ever seen. I try to travel in carryon only with about the same number of items you recommend but have never gotten them coordinated with the same style and sophistication! I am planning my summer capsule base on this video. So happy to have found your channel Thank you!

Beautiful outfits. As a European I would suggest wearing the cross body bag under your jacket, has been known for bag straps to be cut off the wearer, when distracted or in busy packed locations. Not a nice thing, but unfortunately a fact of life. Enjoy your trip.

Great video! I just got back from a 10 day trip (end of Aug/beginning of Sep) and let me tell you, I regretted not bringing thick-soled shoes. Whether they're running shoes or slip ons, make sure they have thick soles that protect you from cobblestones! The pain is unreal. Also, the stones are dangerously slippery in the rain. Please also carry a hat and umbrella to protect you from the intense sun and sudden heavy thunderstorms. Carrying a packable rain jacket is a pain but they are WORTH IT. Those rain ponchos you might have to buy instead instantly mark you as a tourist. Yes to scarves and light fabrics.

I second your idea of buying a scarf at one of your destinations! I used to buy souvenirs that languished in drawers and on shelves. But now I buy an accessory that "speaks" of the place I am, and every time I wear it, it reminds me of the days I spent there. They make great conversation pieces, too! I have a cork crossbody bag from Portugal, espadrilles from Spain, a vintage, one-of-a-kind pair of earrings from Italy, a pearl necklace from Tahiti, bracelets from Nepal...they joy they have brought me throughout the years cannot be rivaled by any tchotchke that I could've put on the wall!

Many travel videos I’ve watched have featured outfits that are quite “sloppy” looking, more suited to what you would wear around the house where no one can see you. I just got back from Italy, and I wanted to say how much this video helped me get ready for it. Of course, I shopped my closet, first - like you always remind us. I did get the layering tanks, the black cardigan, the denim jacket, beige blazer, trench coat, the black travel dress, ballet flats and the scarf. :) Everyone in my tour group kept telling me how stylish I was! Also I take a very luxurious small leather backpack because I want to be able to hide my purchases in it and be hands free. I don’t know about Italy, but I would like to share my experience in Paris where I spent one month last October. Most locals wore puffer jackets, jeans and sneakers during the day. The tourists stood out for me because they wore blazers, dresses, high heels, long skirts, knee high boots, etc. I saw the locals dressing up more for dinners out, otherwise they were pretty casual during the day. Great video!!!

Linen, silk, cotton and other breathable fabrics are so wonderful for travel because they don’t trap sweat and odors like most synthetic fibers do. I found a small, dual voltage portable steamer on Amazon that I brought on my recent trip to France, and it came in very handy. It didn’t take up much room in my suitcase, and was quick and easy to use. A quick steam will release wrinkles and freshen up clothes so they can be worn more than one day.

@@arelidelong1188 the one I bought on Amazon is: Conair Travel Steamer for Clothes, Mini Garment Steamer, Fabric Steamer in Green by Travel Smart I don’t think I can post links on KZbin, so I just copied the complete name. It is harder to find dual voltage travel steamers, so this was a good find. It was also inexpensive, around $27. It might not last forever, but it gets the job done for now. I have a sturdier steamer that I use for home, this one is just for travel.

I am so happy I found you. I love this video as I actually leave on a Mediterranean cruise a week from today. We spend two days in Rome before we board the ship. We finish ten days later in Barcelona. I try to pack in carry on always and so agonize over what to take. I too am a Florida girl and tend to lean for more color. I’m taking white linen crop pants, olive green linen and a navy blue polyester pant. I do have a question, are those tennis shoes really comfortable enough to sight see in? I was planning on taking light grey Sketchers slip ons for more support and a pair of Ecco sandals. Any chance you make house calls???? :))
