The birthplace of my ancestors, visited with my great aunt in 2019 . The American singer Tony Bennett sang "I left my heart in San Francisco" (where I was born), but I left my heart in Verbicaro! This video made me cry tears of joy! Thank you so much for this!

This is a fantastic video. What time was the return bus? Is there only one bus in and out a day or more? Please do more bus visit videos. This is your favourite video of mine so far. Not many people bother to vlog about the buses, what time they depart, how long the journey is etc and then show the beautiful places they visit. More please.

Thank you for the nice comments. Buses leave Scalea three times a day morning, around 8, noonish and 3pm (15.00) Last ones start returning around 3pm. To find out the schedules I went to the main parking, by old town, around noon. All the buses collect there for lunch. I started asking and each driver told me his destination and schedule, which I wrote down. Its good to check before you go as schedules are subject to change by time of year.

Verbicaro is a fascinating place. We went on a tip from Wilma in SDT. We met up with a local who gave us a personal tour, invited us in for coffee and sent us off with a bottle of local wine. Amazing experience. Go visit!

It should be so easy. In Scalea in the big parking lot at the foot of Centro Storico all the busses collect in the middle of the day. One day I went and talked to all the bus drivers to find out where they went. Found the bus to Verbicaro and got him to write down the schedule. I found buses to Verbicaro, Orsomarso and Papasidero. It was a fun adventure

Verbicaro is interesting for hill towns. While the small Centro Storico is largely abandoned, that is surrounded by a large vibrant community.
