Im sorry you had to deal with that. While my experience in Italy was very limited, short vacation only, I found the people Italy so welcoming and warm. I am grateful for the video you posted as its so very true! If a person is not happy with themselves- they wont be happy ANYWHERE! Dear, most of those comments are probably from people who never traveled or spent a significant amount of time anywhere abroad and didn't really understand that you were proposing a topic of discussion. Moving abroad for the first time or when you change countries, especially the first time, totally blows your mind and makes you question everything that you were programmed to believe in your home country. Moving from America to China back in 2012, for the first time, totally blew my mind and completely gave me a new perspective, and I am so happy for that. I love living abroad in new countries. Those people are projecting their own stuff onto you. I'm glad that you could explain yourself, sill, don't let their ignorance and judgement get you down. Many people who have never lived or spent a significant time abroad are living in a bubble and have difficulty seeing any other perspective. Many people are just looking for reasons to get offended. It’s the same as ‘if you’re not happy single, you won’t be happy in a relationship’ of course your surroundings, experience, etc have an effect but your happiness is also down to your own headspace. It’s also down to how you can take inspiration. Went to Florence in 2017, saw a lot of people cycling and appearing carefree, so went back in the U.K. sold my car and bought a cycle, felt a lot less stressed (and had more money to do more travelling). 😎

My opinion, for what it’s worth: 1. Maybe be a little more careful when choosing video titles… Maybe don’t go so hard on the Clickbait-ness, especially if you already know how many people on KZbin comment solely on the title without even watching a video. Sensationalism is a double edged sword, and as you have seen, it could come back to bite you in the butt 2. : don’t give so much attention to people who make comments about content they haven’t watched based on the title. If it were me, I definitely would not be making a video to address the haters who had bashed me on a video they didn’t even bother to watch. Delete those comments, and move on. Don’t make a whole video addressing haters who probably aren’t watching this video either

One month in Bologna and I find the people loud and pushy and generally rude. I witnessed three shouting matches /fights - one in a grocery store and two in cafes. Also, definitely feel the anti-American sentiment. I fully understand "when in Rome do as the Romans" I have learned Italian phrases, am patient but it doesn't seem to matter. IMO and as I have experienced there are many more civilized and enjoyable countries to visit.

Italy hadn’t ruined you, you did it to yourself. There are countless videos of people going overseas & talking about their experiences good or bad. You need to understand that you will have people who will follow you or destroy you, the amount of negativity that people say about other countries is appalling you cant expect being a foreigner going into someone else’s country & bringing down the way they live.
