It's a form of serious mental illness, head in the sand mentality . Several of my family are on the front lines as Nurses and Doctors in Ireland so its close to home with me, and the stories I hear are scary. 2 of my cousins are Consultants and they volunteered for ICU training. My Sister a A&E nurse of 35 years , had a new desks job, volunteered to return and got Covid 19 but thankfully made a full recovery and wants to return again to help. No announcement, no attention. my parents don't even know. But people think this is a scam, a conspiracy but they are so naive it's scary. They can't deal with the reality that something is out of control so they have to find reasons and logic it out. But the reality is Control is an illusion , that's the only scam.

@@ashishkhandeparkar2299 Buongiorno, Ashish.

Don't forget the UK had the opportunity to buy PPE way back when Italy and Spain was ordering their own . And the UK declined. They did fly in 3000 passenger's unchecked from Milan straight into the London tube network on Feb 14th when all this was clearly happening in Italy. There must be s criminal investigation into this

Italian here, talking about the virus spreading, we finally were able to flat the curve: a region in central italy has hit the wonderful "no new cases" record, there are southern regions with only few tens of new cases at day, but in northern regions cases are way less than before but still hit the hundred at day. Overall the medical situation is fine, economy on the other hand is at his last straw, EU has let us down and is only now talking about a "recovery funds" whose details are still to be decided so we have to reopen businesses and try our best to not get sick even if it would have be wiser to wait some other weeks. Psychologically speaking: there will be huge effects on our minds that we will only start to show in the next months, we suddenly had to totally stop our lives and be alone in our homes for 2months (no work, no friends, no family, no walks, no sea or mountain trips) we are very social connected people and this isolation was really hard (and i say that as an introvert, so guess what an extrovert italian is feeling) but i'm proud for the discipline and unity my people shown.

@zhangruyi31534 жыл бұрын
I think the horror show is in the UK. We have over 27,510 deaths and rising. We have over 6,200 new cases yesterday. Our old people are dying like flies and Dominic Cummings said this is the price we have to pay. If this is not a horror story, I do not know what is.
@eddoyle24254 жыл бұрын
Sorry to say, Italy may have been first, but Johnson didn't have the foresight or ability to accept what was happening in the UK, even though it was clearly apparent. This is why the UK now find themselves in the same horrific situation as the number of losses increase daily. Very very sad.
@josh-kr5be4 жыл бұрын
Zhang Ruyi no, I think it’s over. We have over 27,000 deaths but the number is slowing down. We had 6,200 cases yesterday because we tested 122,000 people. That’s 1 in 20 testing positive. A few weeks ago, we were testing 20,000 people a day and 4,000 people were testing positive. That’s one in 5. We are coming to the end of this.

There were an estimated 50,100 excess winter deaths in England and Wales in 2017/18 - the highest recorded since winter 1975/76, figures from the Office for National Statistics show." - end quote*

So true Sophie, I'm watching from Oz but all my family are in UK and I watch all UK news every day. I'm horrified at numbers and how in denial the UK government are. I reckon they will be lucky to get out of this by 2021. The first thing they should have done was stop the incoming flights but they are still letting thousands in every day which is unbelievable to me. How can they demand people stay at home then let people from USA and Italy stroll on through without checks or quarantine. I message my sister every day who works in food shop and she tells me no one is taking it seriously enough. My mum is 80 and I fear for her every day, wish I could just bring her out to Oz. I miss home very much but I'm glad I'm on this side of the pond. Take care
