For a pharma grade facility, I would have thought that when they feed the machines with raw ingredients as they did in the video, they wouldn't be ripping open bags by hand. You can see uneven ripping/tearing marks. What if some of the plastic bits from the raw material bag got into the machine while feeding the product in? Seems like an area of opportunity or improvement to standardize this area. It could lead to less accidents. I would love to try the product, it seems like the company has great passion for their brand, and are committed to fueling high end athletes. Thanks for sharing guys.

This was an excellent vid in which we witness Ollie close to his peak Nerditude (PN). With an average PN of over 9000, Ollie is an example for us all. I especially liked this historical perspective and would be curious to know more about what other crazy nutrition beliefs that previous generations of cyclists held. For the look ahead, I'd love to know if there's a growing consensus among experts what the next frontiers of sports nutrition will be in the near and distant future.

Top-notch factory tour, Ollie, thanks. And all in all it is great that we know how to fuel ourselves better these days, so much to it, certainly. Tho' I have to say we sort of figured it out back in the '70s when we were riding our bikes like motorcycles--Snickers and a Coke and go for broke.

I think the science can't really go much further than it already has. I don't think any future product development will have the revolutionary impact as its earlier iterations but instead will primarily evolve with texture, taste and flavour trends. Or perhaps develop personalised nutrition for individual athletes (at a professional level only)

I know that every rider is different but at what point do you add nutrition to a ride? Is it based off of calories burned or distance traveled or is dictated by environmental conditions or maybe a combination of all of these things?

Technically, palm oil is the most effective oil crop per hectare. The downside is that they grow best in subtropical and equatorial climates, which means decimating swathes of pristine rainforests for agricultural land. Commendable to use something that can be grown in temperate climates.
@velanrama2 жыл бұрын
Decimating swathes of pristine rainforests? All kinds of oil agriculture decimates some kind of forests, not palm oil alone. It's kinda unfair to blame that only to palm oil.

I no longer buy bars, gels, etc. that are wrapped in plastic. I wonder if Enervit has plans to transition to plastic free packaging, or, does anyone know of a manufacturer that does? But... Being lactose-intolerant..., sportsbars are almost impossible to get. On ultra's it's impossible to anything homemade at any depot/aid-stations, and if they have bars, its a struggle to see if any contains lactose. I have a high degree of intolerans, that gives me fever and joint-pains and a stomach that either closes up completely or lets everything run right through. Enervit (as with all other bar-makers) doesnt make it clear, if the bar will help me or kill me !

Oh, they love to make you believe. Problem is, that there is often too many fast carbohydrates (high GI index) in the products - and people end up consuming too much because they are too concentrated - resulting in gastric upset - and the runs 👍🤣 It is way better to make something yourself and get some proper food on the go. Gels and bars are too expensive per kilo compared to homemade. And is fully possible to make some yourself without a lot of artificially content and E numbers.
