"ITALY TO BELGIUM by Car: Navigating Tolls and Scenic Views!"

I've driven a few times from my home on Lake Maggiore to the UK. I live right by the Swiss border so I go through Switzerland, using the passes when possible to avoid the 8km queues of Dutch caravans waiting to go through the Gotthard tunnel.. I've worked out a fast enough route which avoids all the tolls, (except for the Swiss once-a-year fee of €40). I've got a diesel engined Fiat Panda 4x4 which is a little more powerful than the standard 3-cylinder engine, so I have absolutely no problems with hills, etc. The autostrada fees in Italy are far too expensive, especially considering the fact that they're half closed most of the time due to unending roadworks!

Oh man. Fiat Panda memories. We spent our month in Italy driving one of those. 70 HP is def a different experience. Especially for a speed loving car guy. Glad you two made it safely. Hope you find what you're looking for. And more!😊

@360cynandscott Yeah, we loved it. Fun and roomy enough to hold everyrhing - and - with EXCELLENT gas mileage. Or is it petrol kilometerage over there?? Haha.

It does have good gas mileage. I just passed the 1 year from getting my driver license in Italy so now I could get a more powerful car like a Ferrari hahaha. Now they are changing the law to 3 years for new licenses so I'm glad I did it when i did. Even though I've been driving for 30 years lol.
