What's the REAL COST of Buying Appliances in Belgium?

Trying to figure out if you are going to live in a different country every 3 or 4 years. I would think you would keep one home base and just travel throughout Europe. Why did you live Italy is you can share?

Interesting how major appliances seem quite a bit smaller than typically here in the US. Re: ovens, is it common for residences to not come with an oven? btw, do the store shelf prices already include VAT/sales taxes (unlike the US)? I think that must nicely simplify shopping, i.e. no need to do math on the fly!
